Singer Khánh An tearfully recounts stories about her late grandmother.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Runner-up of "Solo with Bolero 2024" Khanh An said that the moment she learned of her grandmother's passing, she was devastated. Every time she sings a song about her grandmother, tears well up in her eyes.

Khánh An has won numerous music awards, most notably the runner-up title in The Voice Kids Vietnam 2019 and, most recently, the runner-up title in Solo with Bolero 2024 .

At 19, Khanh An has the appearance of a young woman with a pure and innocent beauty. The singer said that she had difficulties with her singing voice during puberty but soon regained her form thanks to diligent vocal training.

Recently, the singer attracted attention with the release of her music video " Finding Mother in My Dreams." The song was written based on a true story and memories of Khánh An's grandmother.

Sharing her feelings while composing the song, Khanh An choked up, saying, "The song was written from the deepest parts of my heart. This is my true story, so every time I sing it, tears well up in my eyes. My grandmother is my motivation, my greatest source of strength to continue on my artistic path."

Khánh An shared that during the time she and her mother had to work far away, her mother stayed at home, waiting anxiously for their return. But then, one day, upon her return, she was devastated to find that her mother had passed away forever.

Despite it being her debut work, Khánh An didn't prioritize polish. The story is simple yet touches the heart because it's filled with love, longing, and loss.

Meritorious Artist Phi Dieu - the actress in the music video - shared: "I've participated in many music videos praising the gratitude I owe to my parents for giving me life and raising me, but this one moved me more than any other, because the 19-year-old girl touched my heart. What I appreciate most is that Khanh An transformed loss and grief into a motivation for her songwriting."

Khánh An was born and raised in Hanoi and is currently a student at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. The singer, born in 2006, has won numerous music awards, most notably the runner-up title in The Voice Kids Vietnam 2019 .

In 2024, she continued to make her mark at the Solo with Bolero 2024 competition, finishing as the runner-up.
