Young players are fit enough to play for the national team

On the evening of November 7, the Vietnamese team continued to step onto the training field, preparing for two matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers this month. This will be Coach Troussier's first official tournament as the national team's leader.

After 6 months of testing, Coach Troussier selected the 32 best players. This coach left out some veteran players such as Ho Tan Tai, Nguyen Phong Hong Duy and Nguyen Thanh Chung.

He put his trust in many young stars such as Khuat Van Khang, Nguyen Dinh Bac, Nguyen Thai Son, Nguyen Thanh Nhan.

Many young players have been doubted because they have not made their mark in the national tournament. Some are even uncertain of their starting positions. However, Bui Hoang Viet Anh believes that these players are suitable and capable of playing for the national team.

In the recent preparation phase, the Vietnamese team won against Hong Kong (China), Syria, Palestine but then lost to higher level opponents such as China, Uzbekistan and South Korea. The team revealed many problems, especially the ability to coordinate attacks and organize defense.

" Yesterday, Coach Troussier showed the team videos of past matches so that the whole team could review what they had done and what they had not done, thereby gaining experience. In the coming time, the players will practice to improve as much as possible, including the development of the ball from home field ," Viet Anh added.

Looking ahead to the match against the Philippines, the center back of the Hanoi Police Club said: " We have watched the videos of their matches. In the near future, the head coach will show us more closely to know which players we need to counter ."

The Vietnamese team will meet the Philippines at Rizal Memorial Stadium (November 16). Then, the team will return home to meet the Iraqi team (November 21).
