2. Legal title of Vietnam Coast Guard

Pursuant to Article 4 of Decree 61/2019/ND-CP, the legal titles of the Vietnam Coast Guard are as follows:

- Police Officer, Detective Officer and Investigator are legal titles of the Vietnam Coast Guard, with the duty to prevent, stop, detect and fight against crimes and law violations.

- Police officers and Coast Guard detectives include:

+ Police officer, Junior detective;

+ Police officer, Intermediate detective;

+ Police officer, Senior Detective.

- The Minister of National Defense prescribes the conditions, standards, procedures for appointment, dismissal, removal from office and the form of certificates for Police Officers and Reconnaissance Officers of the Vietnam Coast Guard.

- The Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard decides to appoint, dismiss, and remove Police Officers and Reconnaissance Officers; to issue, revoke, and regulate the management and use of Police Officer and Reconnaissance Officer Certificates of the Vietnam Coast Guard.

- Investigators of the Vietnam Coast Guard, when assigned to investigate criminal cases according to the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code and the Law on Organization of Criminal Investigation Agencies, must be responsible before the law and the Chief who issued the assignment decision for the performance of their duties and powers.

3. Regime and policies for officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Coast Guard

According to Article 5 of Decree 61/2019/ND-CP, the regime and policies for officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Coast Guard are as follows:

- Receive salary according to rank, position, and allowance regime;

- Enjoy seniority allowance beyond the framework, allowance for holding concurrent leadership positions, regional allowance, special allowance, attraction allowance, mobility allowance, hazardous and toxic allowance, seniority allowance, professional responsibility allowance, job responsibility allowance, national defense and security service allowance, long-term working allowance on ships, at sea, on islands, sea-going day allowance, special sea-going allowance suitable to the sea area, island working area, task requirements and other regimes and policies as officers, soldiers of the armed forces and officers, civil servants, and public employees with the same working conditions, environment, and sea and island working area according to the provisions of law.

4. Organizational system of Vietnam Coast Guard

The organizational system of the Vietnam Coast Guard includes:

(1) Vietnam Coast Guard Command.

(2) Units under the Vietnam Coast Guard Command:

- Command of Coast Guard Region 1; Command of Coast Guard Region 2; Command of Coast Guard Region 3; Command of Coast Guard Region 4;

- Drug Crime Prevention Task Force No. 1; Drug Crime Prevention Task Force No. 2; Drug Crime Prevention Task Force No. 3; Drug Crime Prevention Task Force No. 4;

- Reconnaissance Group No. 1; Reconnaissance Group No. 2;

- Center for Training and Professional Development of Coast Guard.
