Communes and wards after merger: Proactively shaping direction, creating new position and strength

Ha Nam Ward was established on the basis of merging Lam Ha, Tan Hiep, Hoang Dong, Tien Noi, Tien Ngoai wards and part of Quang Trung ward. Ha Nam Ward has an area of 29.98km² and a population of over 33 thousand people. With outstanding urban advantages, Ha Nam Ward aims for continuous double-digit economic growth, focusing on deepening and improving the quality of development. By 2030, the ward strives to become a center for education - training, trade - services - tourism and a model urban area for innovation and creativity.

Comrade Vu Thi Minh Phuong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ha Nam Ward Party Committee, affirmed that accelerating economic restructuring is a key task to achieve this goal. The ward focuses on developing strong service industries, forming high-end commercial and service areas and tourist areas and spots to attract large investors in this field.

Key areas such as Phu Thu intersection, Nam Cao University Area... are planned to develop trade and services, connecting with large landscape architectural works. At the same time, the ward also focuses on developing the private economy, considering it the most important driving force of the economy and enhancing the application of science, high technology, and e-commerce to promote sustainable development.

The local development orientations have received great consensus and expectations from the people. Mr. Nguyen Duc Phan, a senior party member in Dinh Ngo residential group, believes: I strongly agree with the policy of building a two-level local government because it is much more convenient for the people. Local officials, people and party members all expect that the strategies will soon be concretized to build infrastructure and connect development, successfully implementing local tasks.

Weaving in Nam Ly commune is creating jobs with stable income for many local workers.

In Nam Ly commune, the merger of three communes Tien Thang, Phu Phuc and Hoa Hau has created a diverse and promising economic picture. With the goal of turning challenges into opportunities, Nam Ly commune is considered to have great potential for development in the direction of industry, high technology, ecological and circular agriculture, according to the value chain.

Comrade Tran Minh Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Ly commune, said that the commune was established on the basis of merging three communes: Tien Thang, Phu Phuc and Hoa Hau. Each old commune has its own advantages and development potential, such as: Hoa Hau is famous for its Dai Hoang royal banana specialty and Vu Dai village's secret braised fish; Phu Phuc has a weaving profession, while Tien Thang strongly develops high-tech agriculture and medicinal plant cultivation...

This merger is not only an administrative reorganization but also an important turning point, helping Nam Ly commune become one of the communes with the largest area and population in the old district, creating new development space and opening up many opportunities. On that basis, the Commune Party Committee has reviewed and synthesized data from the old administrative units for a comprehensive assessment, as an important basis for determining directions and solutions to promote socio-economic development of the new commune in the next 5 years.

Similar to Nam Ly, Yen Tu commune was merged from three communes: Yen Nhan, Yen Phong and Yen Tu, facing higher requirements for leadership and management due to the significant increase in population and administrative boundaries. However, the rearrangement of administrative units also opens up opportunities to promote comprehensive strengths, creating breakthroughs in economic development.

The Non Khe Newspaper Festival is oriented by Yen Tu commune to become a unique cultural and spiritual tourism product.

The first Yen Tu Commune Party Congress passed a Resolution with 3 key tasks and 3 breakthroughs, based on the effective exploitation of natural conditions and development space after the merger. Comrade Vu Van Phuc, Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, said that the development orientation of Yen Tu is towards industry, trade, tourism services. The commune encourages processing industries, clean technology and traditional industries to create jobs for workers.

In particular, Yen Tu also focuses on developing ecological agriculture, applying high technology associated with rural tourism. The preservation and promotion of cultural values are also given special attention, with the goal of turning the commune into a unique cultural and spiritual tourist destination through the preservation and elevation of intangible cultural heritages and historical relics: National intangible heritage of Xam singing art Ha Thi Cau, National intangible heritage of Non Khe Newspaper Festival, Binh Hai Village Festival and National relic Thuong Binh Hai Temple...

The success of the administrative unit arrangement is not only on paper but is realized through actions and clear results in socio-economic development and people's quality of life. The determination of the new communes and wards after the merger has shown the great role and responsibility of the commune-level Party Committee in building a strong solidarity bloc and promoting socio-economic development. This is also a "test" for the new commune and ward Party Committees.
