Why do I need to update personal information on the VssID app before July 1?
VssID is an application developed by Vietnam Social Security, allowing users to store and look up information about health insurance cards, medical examination and treatment processes... easily.
After integrating the health insurance card into the VssID application, users only need to bring their smartphone with them every time they go to the doctor or get medical treatment without having to bring their health insurance card, helping to store complete information and avoid losing or damaging the paper health insurance card.
Not simply a "warehouse" for health insurance cards, the VssID application also provides a series of convenient features such as looking up the process of participating in social insurance, unemployment insurance, salary level as the basis for social insurance payment...
Thereby, employees can compare the contribution level with the actual salary received, check the continuity during the participation period and detect signs that the enterprise owes insurance.
However, for some reasons, currently the personal information of citizens on the VssID application may be inaccurate or not updated, for example, the old ID number is still used, not updated to the citizen identification number (CCCD) or the citizen has a change in home address, phone number, email address...
According to the announcement from the Social Insurance Agency, from July 1, when the new Social Insurance Law and Health Insurance Law take effect, people need to update their personal information on the VssID application, including the following information:
- Citizen identification number (12 digits) replaces the old identity card number (10 digits).
- Full name, date of birth, gender exactly as on birth certificate and citizen identification card.
- Permanent address.
- Personal phone number and email.
Updating information will help synchronize the data of social insurance participants. If the information is not updated correctly, people may encounter difficulties in handling insurance-related procedures, such as not being able to look up the social insurance payment process, not being issued an electronic social insurance card via VssID, and slow processing of insurance policies, etc.
Previously, from June 1, people will also use information on the VssID application for medical examination and treatment to completely replace paper health insurance cards.
How to check if VssID application has updated correct personal information
To check if the VssID application has been updated to the latest Citizen Identification number, follow these steps:
- Activate the VssID application on your smartphone, log in to your application account.
- After logging in, your social insurance account information will be fully displayed on the application interface, including social insurance number, full name, date of birth... Here, you check the "CCCD/CMND/Passport" section, if the old ID number is still displayed, you need to update the information to the newer CCCD number.

Personal information is fully displayed on VssID (Screenshot).
