The Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention under the Ministry of Public Security has issued a warning about Spyzie, one of the spy apps used by many parents to remotely monitor their children's phones.
Accordingly, in the era of technological development, the Internet has brought many conveniences to children such as supporting learning, entertainment and connecting with friends. However, because not all content is safe, children are at risk of accessing malicious websites or being lured by bad guys in cyberspace.

Spyzie app is used by many parents to monitor children's phones silently collecting user data.
Faced with this problem, many parents turn to the Spyzie monitoring application to remotely monitor their children's phones.
However, through research and evaluation, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention found that Spyzie is actually a spyware designed to operate in secret, alongside other legitimate applications on the phone.
When installed, this application allows hackers to track and steal a lot of personal data such as messages, call logs, images, email addresses, etc. without the user knowing.
Statistics from TechCrunch show that the majority of affected victims are Android device users. Specifically, more than 500,000 Android devices and at least 4,900 iOS devices were compromised by Spyzie without the owners knowing.
Therefore, to protect devices from Spyzie and other spyware, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention recommends that people should regularly check the list of installed applications. In case of detecting strange or suspicious applications, people should quickly remove them from the device.
In addition, phone users need to pay attention to unusual symptoms such as the device getting hot, running slow, draining the battery quickly, consuming a lot of mobile data, ads popping up continuously, the device restarting itself, or strange applications appearing.
People need to check the application's access rights, especially system access rights, camera, microphone, messages, location, etc. At the same time, note to only install applications from official stores such as CH Play and App Store and regularly update the operating system.
In case of suspicion that the device has spyware, phone users should scan the entire device with reputable applications such as Avast, Kaspersky,... downloaded from the official app store.
When it is not possible to remove suspicious software, restoring the device to its original state is the most effective way for people to remove all spyware.
