The School Meals Project contributes to improving school nutrition from the quality of nutritionally balanced boarding meals andeducating students about nutrition.
Improving School Nutrition with Software
In order to contribute to improving school nutrition, contributing to the development of stature and physical strength of future generations, Ajinomoto Vietnam Company cooperated with the Ministry of Education and Training, the National Institute of Nutrition ( Ministry of Health ) to implement the School Meals Project in boarding primary schools nationwide since 2017. The project includes contents to support the development of nutrition and health for primary school students, including: "Software to build a balanced nutritional menu", Nutrition education program "Three minutes to change awareness" and "Model boarding kitchen" to ensure food hygiene and safety.

With the Project's Software, schools can use a rich menu bank of 120 available menus with over 360 dishes for lunch, ensuring nutritional balance according to age needs, diverse and delicious, divided according to the taste of 3 regions: North, Central and South. Schools can also create many new nutritionally balanced menus by combining available dishes in the Software's menu bank.
With the desire to have more and more primary schools and students benefit from the Project, from the end of 2023, the Project will expand the users of the Nutritionally Balanced Menu Building Software to primary schools providing lunch for students through catering units, and new boarding schools.
To date, the Project has been implemented in more than 4,300 primary boarding schools in provinces and cities nationwide, providing nutritionally balanced meals and educating nutritional knowledge about food to more than 2.2 million students.
Strengthening the effectiveness of implementing School Meals nationwide
In order to enhance the effectiveness of the nationwide implementation of the School Meals Project, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has recently coordinated with Ajinomoto Vietnam Company to conduct training courses, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of organizing boarding meals that meet nutritional and food safety standards for school boards, kitchen staff, and medical staff at primary schools that organize boarding meals.

After Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi has just launched a training course with the participation of more than 600 delegates, including representatives from the Department of Education and Training of districts, the Board of Directors of primary schools, kitchen staff and school medical staff.

At the training session, Mr. Nguyen Nho Huy - Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Education, Ministry of Education and Training directed primary schools that organize boarding meals to clearly understand the tasks and methods to deploy the software "Building a balanced nutritional menu", thereby helping the work of creating menus and preparing meals for school students become more effective and scientific.

Sustainable Cassava Project helps increase cassava productivity, improve farmers' income
In particular, the Maternal and Child Nutrition Program provides nutritional and health solutions for pregnant and lactating mothers and children under 60 months of age, contributing to improving the stature of future generations. The program is currently being implemented nationwide in coordination with the Department of Maternal and Child Health and the National Institute of Nutrition - Ministry of Health.
Contributing to the agricultural and environmental sectors, the Sustainable Cassava Project, which will be implemented from 2023, will help nearly double cassava productivity, improve farmers' incomes, and reduce CO2 emissions into the natural environment compared to traditional farming.
