Figures recently released by the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism show that from January to September 2024, Cambodia welcomed a total of 4.8 million international visitors, an increase of 22.2% over the same period in 2023. This figure is equivalent to 99.7% of the number of international tourists who visited Cambodia in the same period in 2019, a year that welcomed the most international tourists ever.

Along with the increase in international tourist arrivals, ticket sales for international tourists visiting the Angkor complex also increased by 29.7%, reaching 32.5 million USD.

At the same time, Cambodia also had 1.36 million people traveling abroad, an increase of about 3.2%.

Cambodia's Secretary of State and Tourism Ministry spokesman Tob Sopheak said that political stability and security in the country are the main reasons attracting many international tourists to visit and invest in Cambodia. In addition to the peace factor, Cambodia is also a country with many tourist destinations, from cultural, historical, natural tourism, to the quality of services that are always improved to best serve tourists. It is expected that Cambodia will welcome about 6 million international tourists in 2024.

Cambodia welcomed the most international tourists in 2019 with 6.61 million arrivals. Cambodia's international tourism revenue was $4.92 billion at that time. Tourism contributed 12.1% of the country's gross domestic product (GDP).
