Cambodia and China have just signed a number of cooperation documents to promote economic, agricultural and rural development during the official visit to Cambodia from April 21 to 23 by Politburo member and Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
At the 7th meeting of the two countries' Intergovernmental Committee, held on April 22 in Phnom Penh, co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister, First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia Sun Chanthol and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, the two sides signed three important cooperation documents.
These include China's aid for phase 2 rural clean water supply projects in Cambodia; China's support for the Cambodian Agricultural Development Master Plan; and a protocol on processing cowhide in Cambodia for export to China as animal feed.
Previously, on April 21, Mr. Wang Yi had talks with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sok Chenda Sophea.
The two sides highly appreciated the strong development in all areas of Cambodia-China bilateral relations.

The two countries' foreign ministers also agreed on the importance of regular exchanges of visits between the two countries' leaders, demonstrating high political trust and friendship between the two countries.
According to the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, further promoting the “Diamond Hexagon” cooperation, people-to-people exchanges, joint development of the “Industrial and Technological Corridor” and the “Fish and Rice Corridor” as well as cooperation in infrastructure, energy, economy and trade were also discussed. In addition, the two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
According to a press release from the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during the visit, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi had an audience with Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni; paid courtesy calls to Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Senate, and Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia.
