Specifically, about 5,000 seats in the priority area reserved for veterans and the elderly were set up by Hanoi authorities on Hung Vuong, Tran Phu, Trang Tien, Nha Chung streets...
The priority areas are located in very beautiful locations, close to the road so that veterans and the elderly can easily observe and follow the entire rehearsal tonight (August 30) and the 80th National Day Parade and Celebration (September 2).
Preparing the priority area is not only a warm and caring act towards previous generations, but also contributes to the solemn atmosphere and connection between generations at this historic event.
On Hung Vuong Street, rows of seats have been arranged so that veterans and the elderly can sit comfortably to watch the parade.
According to the reporter of Van Hoa , from 12:00 to 16:00 on August 29, many veterans and elderly people were present at the priority area to prepare for the General Rehearsal on the morning of August 30.
The couple, former soldiers Nguyen Trong Tang and Le Thi Mai (65 years old), shared that Mr. Tang previously worked at Station 211 of Bac Luan Border Gate, Quang Ninh, and Mrs. Mai worked at Treatment Team 44 serving wounded soldiers on the Cao Bang border.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, Mr. Tang and his wife also took a bus to the city named after Uncle Ho to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the historic moment.
We have only watched the General Practice, the Preliminary Rehearsal, and the Parade on TV. Today, the couple and their young child set off on Hung Vuong Street early in the morning to watch the General Rehearsal and the Parade.
“When I arrived, I saw that the authorities had arranged priority and the best positions for veterans and the elderly. I was very touched because the authorities cared about the disadvantaged in society, those who had devoted their youth, health, and even some of their blood in the resistance war for national independence,” veteran Nguyen Trong Tang said emotionally.
Also present at the priority area on Hung Vuong Street, Mrs. Ngo Thi Chanh (92 years old), from the inner city of Hanoi, was brought there by her children and grandchildren early in the afternoon to avoid traffic jams. Mrs. Chanh said that the seats were arranged by the police officers right in the front row, so she could comfortably watch the parades and marches passing by.
Being old and having witnessed the ups and downs of the country, Mr. Chanh said he was moved and happy to sit near Ba Dinh Square to witness the historical events of the nation, to see the changes and increasing prosperity of the country.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ngo Van Cuong (62 years old, from Hoai Duc commune, Hanoi), a veteran of the Vi Xuyen front, emotionally said that he was very honored and proud to be the one who went to protect the country's sovereignty, and was lucky to return and witness the country's historical moments. Sitting with his comrades in the parade area, marching through, I felt more deeply the value of peace . I hope that future generations will always live in the peace of the country, joining hands to build the Fatherland to become stronger and richer," said Mr. Ngo Van Cuong.
At the Hung Vuong - Nguyen Thai Hoc intersection, Captain Nguyen Tien Quang, Deputy Head of Ba Dinh Ward Police (Hanoi) said that Hanoi City Police reserved this priority area for veterans and disadvantaged people to show gratitude to the generations who sacrificed part of their blood and bones in the cause of building and protecting the country.
“The sidewalk areas around the parade routes have been arranged by the City Police and Ward Police with seats in the most visible positions so that veterans, the disadvantaged, and the elderly can admire the achievements that they have sacrificed their blood and youth to bring to today's generations,” said Captain Nguyen Tien Quang.
