According to VTC News, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) will change its uniform supplier for the national teams after the contract with the old sponsor expires at the end of this year. The first images of the new design that the Vietnamese team will use in 2024 have just been revealed on social media, including the competition jersey and travel jersey.

The message of the collection is "Vietnamese Pride - The Mountains and Rivers Continue". The image of the Lac bird on the Dong Son bronze drum and the five-pointed star on the national flag are designed as motifs on the jersey. The collection represents national pride, the desire to conquer the peak regardless of challenges, and the solidarity to become invincible against all opponents.

The Vietnam team is expected to use this jersey model immediately at the 2023 Asian Cup taking place in January 2024.

Coach Philippe Troussier and his team will gather from December 31 with 34 players at the Vietnam Football Federation Youth Training Center. The team will leave for Qatar on January 5. Before entering the 2023 Asian Cup, the Vietnamese team will play a friendly match with the Kyrgyzstan team on January 9.

Vietnam is in Group D, playing Japan (January 14), Indonesia (January 19) and Iraq (January 23). The top two teams in each group and the four best third-placed teams will advance to the round of 16.

The Vietnamese team participated in two Asian Cups in 2007 and 2019, both reaching the quarter-finals. Compared to the most recent Asian Cup, the Vietnamese team has "changed" almost all of its players, with only 8 players remaining in the list just announced.
