Accordingly, this special edition Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years sports car is limited to only 1,974 units worldwide, a number corresponding to the year the Turbo variant first appeared. In Vietnam, there have been two 911 Turbo 50 Years imported, both privately owned and with their own serial numbers. The car that just arrived in Vietnam is the 499th out of a total of 1,974 cars produced globally.
The Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years retains the sporty silhouette typical of the 911 line, but is complemented with exclusive details to honor the half-century heritage. Notably, the decal strip on the side of the car stands out. The details are inspired by the 1974 RSR Turbo concept car - the first prototype that paved the way for the production Turbo line. In addition, the number 63 is affixed to the body of the car upon personalization request, symbolizing the year 1963, when the Porsche 911 was officially born. The car is equipped with a set of 5-spoke Sport Classic rims in two-tone white and silver, measuring 20 inches in the front and 21 inches in the rear, part of a personalized option package worth more than 1 billion VND. The rims are only seen on racing cars or high-performance supercars, making wheel removal and installation faster and safer. The rear design is highlighted with the luxurious gold-plated "Turbo 50" and "Porsche" letters. The seamless LED taillights are covered in a smoke gray layer, contributing to the unique look of the anniversary version.
Details such as the Porsche logo on the hood, steering wheel and wheels all use the classic version that appeared in the 1970s. In particular, the rear engine cover has an additional round 50th anniversary badge in two tones of white and gold. The cabin of the Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years recreates a nostalgic style with seats covered in McKenzie-patterned Tartan fabric, similar to the 1973 911 RSR Turbo concept. This is the interior style that appeared on limited editions such as the 911 Sport Classic or 911 Spirit 70. The motifs on this special sports car are also reproduced on the dashboard and door panels, combined with Turbonite interior trim - an alloy mixed between metallic gray and copper gold, exclusive to the Turbo line. The passenger-side dashboard is engraved with the production number 499/1974, along with a “Turbo 50” badge. The car is also equipped with the Sport Chrono package, which includes functions such as Launch Control, an analogue lap timer, a racing-inspired gearshift lever, and a steering wheel-integrated driving mode. In terms of operation,
The Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years is equipped with a 3.7L twin-turbo 6-cylinder boxer engine, producing 650 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. The engine comes with an 8-speed PDK gearbox, all-wheel drive system, allowing acceleration from 0-100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, before reaching a maximum speed of 330 km/h. Porsche launched its iconic 911 sports car in 1963, but the Turbo variant didn’t appear until 1974. The 911 Turbo marked the first time the German company had used turbocharging in a production sports car. Previously, the technology had only been used in Porsche’s motorsports cars. In the Vietnamese market, the Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years is officially imported from Germany with a standard selling price of about 18.7 billion VND. However, the owner of the car in the article has added many optional equipment, raising the total value to over 20 billion VND.
