Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang, Vice Chairman and General Director of Vingroup, said that in the context of air pollution becoming the biggest threat to the health and future of humanity, electric vehicles are considered by the world to be one of the most effective solutions to reduce CO2 emissions for a greener and more sustainable future.
Vingroup is determined to accelerate the development of electric vehicles and is steadfast in this choice, even though this is one of the most difficult, resource-intensive and fiercely competitive fields.
"Our wish is to build as soon as possible a solid foundation for a green Vietnam of the present and the future, while making a practical contribution to the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2050, to which the Government has strongly committed with the international community," said Mr. Quang.

According to Mr. Quang, to realize this mission, in addition to the determination to produce electric vehicles, Vingroup has also taken drastic actions over the past year by establishing the "For a Green Future" fund and announcing 10 key action programs, focusing on 10 essential areas of life. Each program has specific and practical actions such as joining hands to collect trash on rivers in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Can Tho; organizing the "Green Voice" contest season 1...
"If we want to go far, we have to go together. Vingroup cannot do it alone. Now more than ever, we need the cooperation of all Vietnamese people for the common goal of the whole nation. The unanimous support of the Vietnamese people, whether by prioritizing the use of VinFast electric vehicles or by encouraging them with spirit, will certainly help VinFast successfully realize its aspiration to become a national brand in industry and high technology with international status," said Mr. Quang.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Le Cong Thanh, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, expressed his gratitude to Vingroup for always accompanying the ministry in the work of resource management, environmental protection and climate change adaptation. He highly appreciated the idea of initiating the program "Fierce Vietnamese Spirit - for a green future".

"This is a practical action to contribute to concretizing the goals that our Party, Government and people are aiming for. That is the goal clearly stated in Resolution 29-NQ/TW dated November 17, 2022 of the 13th Party Central Committee on continuing to promote industrialization and modernization of the country by 2030. It is also one of the practical and specific actions to fulfill the commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 at the COP26 Conference," said Mr. Thanh.
According to Mr. Thanh, it is clear that switching to green, environmentally friendly means of transport is one of the fundamental, effective and practical solutions for Vietnam in particular and the world in general, when the burden of environmental pollution, air pollution, especially in our country, large cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, is affecting the health and life of each of our people every day.
"I hope that through this campaign, state agencies, Vietnamese businesses, social organizations, experts and every citizen will join hands and come up with effective solutions. Especially when products like VinFast electric vehicles will become the main means to contribute to bringing Vietnam to a greener and more sustainable future," said Mr. Thanh.
Dr. Hoang Duong Tung
Dr. Hoang Duong Tung, Chairman of the Vietnam Clean Air Network, called the launching ceremony "the dream of environmentalists" like him. According to Mr. Tung, air pollution (PM2.5 fine dust) is a burning issue in many cities across the country, including Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. What is more worrying is that this trend is not decreasing but increasing. Many people have used the term "pollution season" instead of "winter" in the northern provinces.
"Therefore, green transformation is the inevitable path we must take. Green transformation in production, in economic development, in all fields. In Hanoi, more and more electric vehicles produced by VinFast are appearing, from motorbikes, cars, taxis to buses," said Mr. Tung, adding that Hanoi is also very determined to implement green transportation. In particular, the scenario of using 100% electric buses is the most determined and best for the environment.
The Chairman of the Vietnam Clean Air Network believes that the campaign "Fierce Vietnamese spirit - for a green future" is really helpful in the green transition process.
"I believe that we need to act immediately and this responsibility is not just ours, but all of us," Dr. Tung emphasized.
