Kon Tum Ko Pong village, Thang Loi ward ( Kon Tum city) was formed a long time ago, the daily life and production of the people are closely linked to the history of the establishment and development of the province. Through many generations, the people in the village have longed for concrete roads to facilitate their travel.
Mr. A Bun - Head of Kon Tum Ko Pong village said: Recently, some roads in the village have been concreted in the form of the State and the people working together, the people are extremely excited. However, A Gio road and Le Hoan road (the section from Bac Kan road through the residential area in the North of Kon Tum city) have not been invested yet. The characteristics of these roads are very steep, high population density, people often go back and forth for trade, labor, and production. These roads are also very important in connecting traffic between ethnic minority villages of Thang Loi ward with the new administrative center of the province.

Ms. Y Phon (83 years old), living on Le Hoan Street, Kon Tum Ko Pong Village, shared: The road full of rocks, gravel, and rubble right in front of my house has been there for a long time. This road is very difficult to travel in both rainy and dry seasons. The worst part is during the rainy season, water from the higher areas flows down, overflows onto the road, gradually forming deep, stagnant ditches, making the road very bumpy and slippery. When it rains heavily, we cannot travel, we have to wait for the water to recede before we dare to go.
According to people living on A Gio Street (from Bac Kan Street through the residential area north of Kon Tum City), this section of the road often has motorbike accidents, drivers have fallen due to the slippery road and steep slope. In addition, the amount of mud and waste dumped from Bac Kan Street to residential areas in the village during the rainy season makes it very difficult for people to ensure hygiene in their living areas; unsanitary conditions can also easily lead to more human diseases. People really hope that the State will invest in building concrete roads and have a solid drainage system so that people's lives can be improved.

Mr. A Bun added: Through village meetings and voter meetings, villagers have repeatedly voiced their opinions and petitioned the State to support the construction of concrete roads on A Gio and Le Hoan streets. Villagers are willing to contribute money and labor in the form of "State and people working together", but up to now, there has been no investment for the people. To overcome the damaged roads, after each rainy season, villagers have to pour more soil and rocks to repair the road; this is only a temporary solution because when it rains heavily, the soil and rocks on the road will be washed away by the water, the road will continue to be damaged, causing danger to traffic participants.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thang Loi Ward, Kon Tum City said: The People's Committee of Thang Loi Ward finds the aspirations and wishes of the people living in Kon Tum Ko Pong village very legitimate. The People's Committee of Thang Loi Ward has included these projects in the list of public investments in 2023 with a total cost of 2.12 billion VND. Of which, the A Gio road section is 267m long, with a construction cost of 700 million VND; the Le Hoan road section is 250m long, with a construction cost of 660 million VND; the concrete road in the residential area of Kon Tum Ko Pong village is 289m long, with a cost of 760 million VND.
Currently, the People's Committee of Thang Loi Ward has submitted a proposal to the Economic Department of Kon Tum City to request funding for the implementation of these projects. When Kon Tum City allocates capital, the ward will implement them to facilitate the travel and daily activities of the majority of people in Kon Tum Ko Pong village.
