Consumer price index in July increased by 0.38%

According to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Statistics Office, the consumer price index (CPI) in July 2025 increased by 0.38% compared to the previous month. Of the 11 main groups of goods and services, 9 groups increased in price, 1 group decreased and 1 group remained stable. The food and catering services group increased the most at 0.83%; the housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials group increased by 0.38%; the culture, entertainment and tourism group increased by 0.29%; other goods and services increased by 0.24%; clothing, hats, footwear increased by 0.11%; household appliances and equipment increased by 0.09%; medicine and medical services increased by 0.09%; beverages and tobacco increased by 0.05%; education increased slightly by 0.02%. The transportation group decreased by 0.54%; the post and telecommunications group remained stable.

The main driver of the CPI increase came from the simultaneous increase in prices of food and catering services, in which food prices and the cost of eating out increased sharply due to the prolonged hot weather affecting the supply of vegetables and seafood, while the demand for food services in tourist areas and central areas increased during the peak of domestic tourism. The CPI increase in the month was also affected by the increase in retail rice prices after the peak of the winter-spring harvest, reduced supply, while input prices and business costs increased due to changes in tax policies from July 1.
