Consumer price index in July increased by 0.38%

According to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Statistics Office, the consumer price index (CPI) in July 2025 increased by 0.38% compared to the previous month. Of the 11 main groups of goods and services, 9 groups saw price increases, 1 group decreased, and 1 group remained stable. The food and beverage group saw the highest increase at 0.83%; the housing, electricity, water, fuel, and construction materials group increased by 0.38%; the culture, entertainment, and tourism group increased by 0.29%; other goods and services increased by 0.24%; clothing, hats, and footwear increased by 0.11%; household equipment and appliances increased by 0.09%; medicine and medical services increased by 0.09%; beverages and tobacco increased by 0.05%; and education increased slightly by 0.02%. The transportation group decreased by 0.54%; while the postal and telecommunications group remained stable.

The main driver of the CPI increase came from the simultaneous price increases in the food and beverage group, with food prices and dining out costs rising sharply due to prolonged hot weather affecting the supply of vegetables and seafood, and increased demand for food services in tourist areas and city centers during the peak domestic tourism season. The CPI increase this month was also influenced by the slight rise in retail rice prices after the peak harvest of the winter-spring crop, resulting in reduced supply, while input costs and business expenses increased due to changes in tax policy effective July 1st.
