According to Ms. Nga, implementing the Prime Minister's direction, the Department of Health has coordinated with relevant agencies to advise the City People's Committee to submit a document to the Government and the Prime Minister to allow the suspension of ODA capital from Hungary, and at the same time provide capital from the central budget to supplement the remaining capital of the project.
In a related development, yesterday (July 29), city leaders worked with the consortium of contractors implementing this project to find solutions to continue implementing the project.
Ms. Nga said that after receiving the central government's document agreeing to stop Hungary's ODA capital and supplement capital from the central budget, the city will continue to carry out the next procedures of the project.
She also informed that this morning the Department of Health worked with the Government Inspectorate and the department provided complete documents as requested by the Government Inspectorate to conduct an inspection of this project.
Previously, at the meeting with voters of Can Tho city on July 13, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh directed to remove obstacles for the Can Tho Oncology Hospital project.
"The Oncology Hospital has been delayed for too many years. ODA capital support must be rescheduled, inspected, and examined, individual and collective responsibilities must be clearly defined, and a new solution must be proposed, which is public investment. The hospital must be inaugurated in 2026. I assign the Party Committee and the city government to do this at all costs. If necessary, propose to the Government and the Prime Minister," the Prime Minister directed.
As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , Can Tho Oncology Hospital started construction in October 2017, with a scale of 500 beds and a total investment of more than 1,700 billion VND, of which ODA loan capital is nearly 1,400 billion VND and more than 334 billion VND of counterpart capital from the city.
