Can Tho organizes the Quintessence of Vietnamese Goods Week and super promotions

On December 2, the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City organized the opening ceremony of the program "Week of Vietnamese goods and super promotion 2022".

The program aims to enhance trade promotion, stimulate domestic market demand, boost production and business activities, contribute to economic recovery and development, and respond to the program "National Concentrated Promotion Month 2022 - Vietnam Grand Sale 2022" of the Ministry of Industry and Trade .

The program "Vietnamese Essence Week and Super Promotion 2022" has about more than 40 OCOP products, specialties and typical products of Can Tho displayed and introduced at booths of supermarkets, convenience stores and businesses in the area.

In his opening speech, Mr. Ha Vu Son - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City said that in recent times, Can Tho City has always paid attention to and actively implemented the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program, the city's typical products. Can Tho City's products have gradually exploited and promoted the values ​​of specialties, cultural values ​​and traditions of the localities.

Currently, there are over 1,270 OCOP products in the Mekong Delta region that have been recognized as achieving 3 stars or more; of which, Can Tho city has 74 products and 2 products with 5-star potential (Minh Duc Thanh Trading One Member Co., Ltd.).

Representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade, together with representatives of VNPT Can Tho, BIDV Tay Do Bank and the City Young Entrepreneurs Association signed a memorandum of understanding at the opening ceremony.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Van - Communications Director of Central Retail Group shared that this year is the first year of the new normal after two years of the pandemic. She hopes that the stimulus programs that Can Tho City is implementing will help people in the area have a more exciting shopping season at the end of the year.

“We are currently having explosive promotions to support people to have a full Tet, by preparing a lot of goods, working with many suppliers in the localities where we have stores.

In addition to the usual vegetables and fish, we also prepare goods for Tet, such as meat for making banh chung, beans, sticky rice, beer, wine, jam, candy, and Tet combo packages... for people to conveniently shop at special preferential prices," Ms. Van added.
