Beware of fake news about tax negotiations

The information circulating on social media about the results of reciprocal tax negotiations between Vietnam and the United States is just fake news.

On May 8, information from the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that currently, on a number of social networking sites, images and information about the results of negotiations on reciprocal taxes that the United States plans to apply to goods imported from Vietnam are being circulated.

Specifically, this afternoon, many social media accounts posted and shared articles, statuses with photographs with the content: "results of the Vietnam - US tax negotiation session on May 7."

A lot of fake news appears on social networks.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the information shared on social media on May 8 is completely fake news, untrue, and causes information disruption. Currently, the Government Negotiation Delegation has not announced any information about the negotiations on May 7.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade recommends that websites, social networks and users be careful and not share or spread fake or unverified news.
