Reporter : Looking back over the past year, how do you evaluate the journey you have taken?
- Rapper ĐEN VAU: Last year, Den himself gained more awareness. Awareness of the world view, the value of life, his role in society, and his career. Den also gained more awareness of the lucky things he has and his responsibility to the community and society. These awarenesses developed naturally in his soul and Den is very happy because last year he has contributed a lot to society.
. What do you see yourself getting and what are you not satisfied with?
- Den feels that even though he is a bit stubborn, he always knows how to listen, specifically in the career he is pursuing, he needs to know how to listen to the public, to the audience. What Den is not satisfied with about himself is that he feels that his creative energy is getting less and less "vigorous". Probably because his mind has more and more things to think about.
. Den's journey has always been meaningful because of his community activities. Where did a young person like Den come from to be so aware of his community responsibilities when many young people cannot take care of themselves?
- It is from the awareness that Den spoke from the first answer. The more Den realizes, the more clearly he realizes that the things he has do not come naturally, not because he is too talented, but because of the acceptance and support from the community. Den realizes that he cannot do anything alone and the more the community accepts him, the more he has to share with the community. Especially when that sharing brings happiness to himself and to everyone.
. Den is loved for talking less and doing more, for his humility rarely seen in young people. People say that a person's attitude towards life is always built on a cultural foundation. Is that the same for Den?
- Den would like to not confirm this because if he did, it would be like he was talking about himself. I would like to leave these assessments to the audience and the critics. Den just wants to say one thing, that is, he is certainly not the best. In every industry, in every profession, in every place, there are countless people who can do great things. Not to mention the vast world out there. Den feels that he still has too much to learn, too much knowledge that he lacks. Therefore, he cannot be humble.
What will 2024 be like for Den - from image to music products?
- Honestly, Den never calculates the image and direction in music. Everything comes naturally depending on the inspiration that Den captures. For example, the song "Cooking for you" is also an inspiration that comes without any calculation. But if there are new songs, they will continue to be positive and love this life.

. With Den, how will you prepare for this Tet?
- The Den family's Tet holidays are always a tradition like most other families in our country. It is the apricot tree, peach blossoms, banh chung, and red watermelon. It is burning incense at the ancestors' graves, visiting relatives, preparing candies, cakes, and fruits to invite guests to visit the house. Traditional lifestyle is deeply rooted in the spiritual life of the Den family and grandparents and uncles in the family always encourage their children and grandchildren to maintain this Tet tradition.
. How is black different from yesterday and today?
- This is a question that really takes a long time to answer because with age, living environment, and worldview, each person always has movements and changes from within. Den would like to answer briefly about the musical aspect, the most obvious difference is probably that Den gradually writes for everyone instead of just writing for himself.
. Den is a famous star, close to the audience but because he is a star, he is not easy to approach. That is what people see. As for Den, how do you see yourself?
- Indeed, sometimes Den also finds himself gradually closing himself off, not because he thinks that is what he should do when becoming a famous person, but because Den does not want to bother the places he goes, the people he meets with attention. Since childhood, Den's temperament has always been shy. Den remembers that in middle school and high school, Den was almost the tallest in the school and always bowed his back because he was afraid that he would stand out.
As an artist, every word and action must be carefully thought out before saying or doing anything, and this often makes me feel tired. That is why, in order to focus on writing music, Den rarely has any other activities outside. Maybe that is why people think Den is difficult to approach.
What does Den think about the fierce competition of showbiz ?
- Den's working process is very simple: write music, make music, release. Because he focuses on work, Den doesn't know if showbiz is fiercely competitive or not when he just focuses on his work. Den thinks that music that touches the audience's soul will be accepted. The audience will always support all artists with quality artistic products.
