Fraud warning related to the 100,000 VND gift policy on the occasion of September 2.

The police agencies of communes and wards in the localities have sent out warning information to people as follows:

Common scams include:

- Send messages and emails with fake links with the content "Receive a gift of 100,000 VND", "Fill in information to receive money", "Install VNeID to receive gifts"... When people click on them, the scammers will steal personal information, bank account numbers, and passwords.

- Impersonating government officials, police, or banks to call and give instructions on "how to receive support money", then asking for passwords, OTP codes, or money transfers for "verification".

- Create fake fanpages and websites of authorities to attract people to enter personal information.

Authorities note to people:

1. All Government support policies are implemented publicly and transparently, through official channels such as the People's Committee of the commune/ward, state agencies, or the banking system according to official announcements.

2. Do not provide account number, password, OTP code to anyone in any form.

3. Do not click on strange links or download applications of unknown origin.

4. When receiving suspicious messages or calls, stay calm and check with local authorities or contact the bank's hotline for support.

5. If you detect signs of fraud, immediately report to the police.

First of all, never click on any strange links, whether sent via text message, email or social media. At the same time, do not provide your ID card/CCCD/CC, account number, password or OTP code to anyone. And never follow the requests of calls claiming to be from a government agency, the police, or a bank... without verifying.

Along with that, it is important to always remember that government agencies never ask people to provide OTP codes or banking passwords over the phone. At the same time, remember to verify information through official channels such as the Ministry of Public Security's information portal, the Government Office or mass media.
