Along with that, Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital has posted warning information to people to avoid being scammed by scammers.
A hospital representative said that recently, the hospital received information about a number of individuals calling for charitable donations for patients being treated at the Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital.
After investigation, this hospital confirmed that the information and images posted in the appeal were completely fake.
The post is about a father begging for help from benefactors to save his son who has lung cancer that has spread to the brain, severe respiratory failure, and sepsis and is currently on a ventilator and receiving antibiotic treatment at this hospital.
Post with false information: "When I was first admitted to the hospital, my family advanced the hospital 40 million, now the hospital requires an additional advance of 60 million to continue treatment.
My family situation is difficult. I work for hire but my income is not steady. My son is often sick and my wife has to stay home and can't work much.
Right now, I cannot afford the down payment for further treatment, so I am posting this article to respectfully ask for benefactors and everyone to help me with some of the costs so that I can continue to treat my child."
Below the appeal, there is an account number and a very sad picture of a child lying in the hospital.
Notably, to create trust, these subjects posted documents such as treatment confirmation papers, hospital advances, etc. with fake red seals of the Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital.

Ms. Tran Cao Thanh Binh - Head of Social Work Department of Da Nang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital said that in the past, there were similar fake posts calling for help to save sick children. However, now the subjects are more sophisticated in forging documents and red stamps.
"This document sample does not match the sample provided by the hospital. However, the documents are forged very sophisticatedly, if it were someone outside the hospital, they would definitely believe it is real," said Ms. Binh.
The hospital has reported the information to the Internal Political Security Department (PA03), Da Nang Police and posted a warning, reminding people to contact the hospital's social work department to check and verify the information before wanting to help patients in need.
