The "Detective Kien" duo reunite on the small screen.

Actors Quoc Huy and Vo Dien Gia Huy will star together in the television project "Because My Mother Decided We Should Break Up," after making their mark in "Detective Kien: The Headless Case."

The romantic comedy film directed by Vu Khac Tuan has just announced its cast, featuring many familiar faces from film and theater. Notably, the duo Quoc Huy and Vo Dien Gia Huy return with a role swap: Gia Huy plays the male lead, Trieu Phu, an intelligent and witty young man from a wealthy family who lacks control over his own life; while Quoc Huy plays Duc An, a charming doctor and best friend of Trieu Phu.

Sharing his thoughts on their reunion, Vo Dien Gia Huy said that having Quoc Huy by his side made him feel more at ease while acting. Quoc Huy also commented that after their previous project, they understood each other better, making acting together more comfortable and allowing for greater creativity.

Because his mother forbade the divorce, she recounted how a wealthy man faked paralysis to avoid an arranged marriage based on the advice of "higher powers." His caregiver is Thanh Tam (played by Tam Trieu Dang), a cunning nurse who was once his nemesis in school. From conflict, the two gradually develop feelings for each other, facing prejudice and challenges together to prove their love transcends superstition.

Tam Triều Dâng plays the female lead, Thanh Tâm. Actress Hồng Ánh plays Mrs. Mai – a powerful CEO who loves her children but is conservative and superstitious; People's Artist Lan Hương plays Mrs. Thảo – a "trendy" grandmother who always supports her grandchildren. The film also features the participation of Meritorious Artist Mỹ Duyên, Trần Ngọc Vàng, Thùy Anh, Lê Phương, Trung Lùn, Ngọc Tưởng, Ngọc Trai, Tuyền Mập…

The film will be broadcast exclusively on VieON at 8 PM every Friday and Saturday, starting March 13th.
