Apple warns that the vulnerability "may have been exploited by attackers in highly sophisticated attacks against specific individuals on versions of iOS prior to iOS 17.2."
Notably, “Apple” said this is an additional patch for an attack that was prevented in iOS 17.2. Although it was previously handled, Apple discovered that an additional patch was necessary to ensure comprehensive security.
Apple emphasizes that to protect users, the company will not disclose, discuss, or confirm security issues until the investigation is complete and a fix is available. The security flaw was described as an out-of-bounds write issue and was fixed through improved checks to prevent unauthorized actions.
To update iOS 18.3.2, iPhone users should access the Settings app, then select General > Software Update and follow the instructions.
