Cardi B Slams Elon Musk After Campaigning for Kamala Harris

"I am not a puppet, Elon Musk. I am the daughter of immigrants who worked hard to support me!", rapper Cardi B wrote on X over the weekend.

"I'm a product of welfare. I'm a product of poverty... But you don't know anything about that. You don't know anything about the American struggle," Cardi B, 32, said, referring to a rental assistance program for low-income families.

Elon Musk (53 years old) shared on X a video recording the I Like It singer stuttering for more than a minute when the teleprompter malfunctioned during her speech at Harris' campaign.

"Another puppet who can't even speak without being given a voice. Kamala's campaign lacks authenticity or real empathy," the Tesla founder wrote.

Previously, on November 1, Cardi B admitted that she was "a little nervous" when she couldn't read her speech from the teleprompter.

"I've been waiting for this moment my whole life. My whole life!" she continued at the rally, adding that she needed "patience" from the crowd.

"Are we ready for change in the next eight years? Because we're going to make sure Kamala Harris is in office for eight years!", the female rapper commented.

Cardi was then given a phone with a recording of her speech.

The Bodak Yellow singer is one of many celebrities supporting Ms. Harris in the upcoming presidential election, against Mr. Donald Trump.

On October 31, Jennifer Lopez appeared at Ms. Harris's rally in Las Vegas, showing support for the people of Puerto Rico.

Beyoncé also spoke at a rally in support of Harris in Houston on October 25, telling the audience: "We have to vote for Harris and we need you."

Lady Gaga has just voiced her support for Kamala Harris, officially joining the campaign team in Pennsylvania on November 4 when Vice President Harris holds her final campaign events. Lady Gaga was announced as the musical guest along with Ricky Martin, The Roots, Jazmine Sullivan, DJ Cassidy and Adam Blackstone. Oprah Winfrey, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Fat Joe are among the guest speakers.

Singer Katy Perry also endorsed Harris at a rally in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on November 4. Meanwhile, billionaire Elon Musk has spent nearly $120 million and used his social media platform X to help get out the vote in support of Republican candidate Donald Trump.
