"Cutting the top" of a 5-storey construction project in the center of Nha Trang City

On July 10, at 9/2D Nguyen Thien Thuat Street, Loc Tho Ward, Nha Trang City, authorities dismantled concrete slabs on the top floor of a project invested by Mr. TVH.

According to Nha Trang City People's Committee, in March 2020, the investor was fined 15 million VND for illegal construction under Construction License No. 3375/GPXD-UBND issued by Nha Trang City People's Committee on December 26, 2018.

Authorities will dismantle illegal constructions from top to bottom.

Specifically, the project was licensed to build 6 floors, but Mr. H built 11 floors, 5 floors more than the regulation. The penalty decision also clearly stated that within 60 days from the date of the administrative violation record, Mr. H must complete the procedure to request the competent authority to adjust the construction permit.

After this period, if the investor fails to present the competent authority with the adjusted construction permit, the measure of forced demolition of the violating construction part shall be applied according to regulations.

After that, the investor only paid the administrative fine for not adjusting the construction permit, so in October 2020, Nha Trang City People's Committee issued a decision to enforce the remediation of the consequences.

However, the investor did not comply with the demolition of the illegal construction. In September 2022, the Nha Trang City People's Committee approved a plan to organize enforcement to remedy the consequences of the above construction.

In June 2024, Nha Trang City authorities announced that they would begin participating in field enforcement, starting on the morning of July 3, 2024.

Enforcement will be carried out on 5 illegally built floors, from top to bottom. Outside the land, the authorities will organize safety measures during construction.
