Mobile job fair at the grassroots level to connect jobs with people

Connecting labor supply and demand

Hue 's labor force is quite abundant, with more than 615,000 people participating in the labor market. On average, every year, there are more young workers graduating from school and nearly 10,000 workers receiving unemployment insurance benefits who also need to re-enter the labor market. Grasping this reality, the Center for Employment Services always focuses on operating the online and direct Job Exchange smoothly and effectively. At the Job Exchange, in addition to maintaining regular job exchange sessions on the 5th and 20th of each month, the Center also coordinates with units and localities to organize about 30 job exchange sessions each year.

After 2 years of working in Ho Chi Minh City, during a visit home on the occasion of the DVVL Center organizing a job fair, Hoang Thien (Thuy Bang Ward, Thuan Hoa District) did not miss the opportunity to learn and access information on recruiting workers to work abroad. Through consultation, Thien and some of his fellow countrymen registered to participate in the EPS Labor Program in Korea at the Center's Job Exchange. "I am taking a Korean language course and hope to soon pass the interview for the order to work in Korea," Hoang Thien shared.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Thong, Director of the Information Service Center, said that in 2024, the unit consulted nearly 38,500 people directly at the Center, by phone, online consultation on the website, and social networking sites; introduced domestic jobs to about 2,000 people, of which more than 500 people were successfully introduced to jobs. Provided labor to work abroad under contracts for 455 people, of which 36 people were successfully provided with labor.

In order to develop a flexible labor market, the Center also promotes the development of employment policies based on the principles of forecasting, strategic vision, proactiveness, and conformity with market mechanisms... At the same time, it pays attention to the movement of labor and employment according to geography and reasonable areas. The Center for Employment Services focuses on improving the quality of job referral and labor supply; strengthening coordination and linkage between vocational training institutions to provide vocational training for workers receiving unemployment benefits. In 2024, the number of people applying for unemployment insurance was 9,857; 9,858 people were consulted and introduced to jobs; 1,215 people were supported to learn a trade, an increase of 26% compared to 2023. The amount of unemployment benefits in 2024 was more than 176.8 billion VND and more than 5.9 billion VND was spent on vocational training support.

Narrow the gap, expand the information

Through the operation of the Job Exchange, job information posted has helped workers reach employers and supported businesses in solving their human resource needs. According to statistics, the number of visitors to the job website of the Employment Service Center is more than 1.35 million; collecting information on job seekers is more than 7,000 people, of which at the Job Exchange, directly at the center is nearly 6,600 people. Collecting 86,877 job vacancies, of which at the Job Exchange, directly at the center is 86,403 jobs; through the website, social networking sites is 474 job positions.

In recent times, at each job fair, many recruitment and employment agencies and employees only need to meet each other online to exchange and interview without having to go to the Job Fair location. It is even possible to organize multiple job fairs at the same time to connect employees with recruitment agencies through the application of information technology and digital transformation. "Through the floor, employers and employees "come closer together", no longer separated by space and time. Employees and employers only need to have a smartphone or computer, have an internet connection, register and log in to know each other's information and connect, meet each other to proceed with recruitment and return to the labor market...", said Mr. Nguyen Duy Thong.

To increase the effectiveness of the Job Exchange, the Center promotes propaganda and dissemination of information about the labor market to each locality, helping workers promptly grasp information about jobs and labor recruitment needs of enterprises. At the same time, diversify the forms of operation of the Exchange such as: Online transactions, mobile transactions in districts and towns in the city, organizing city-wide job fairs. Companies that have not recruited enough workers directly at the exchange will be supported by the Center to participate in the next exchange, or through posting recruitment information at the Center's headquarters and 2 affiliated facilities; supporting job information via website, fanpage...

The Center promotes the connection between labor and employment, enhances the provision of rich information about the labor market, maintains the operation of the periodic Job Exchange with online connection inside and outside the city. The Center also wishes to invest in and upgrade equipment, especially equipment connecting the Job Exchange, equipping a connection system down to the ward and commune levels. At the same time, it will add staff to do job consulting and introduction work, and collect labor market information.
