Rach Mieu 2 Bridge tested load, dozens of trucks loaded with goods passed through the bridge safely

Before Rach Mieu 2 Bridge was officially put into use, dozens of trucks loaded with goods ran across the cable-stayed bridge at the same time to test the load.

On the morning of July 29, the contractor consortium including Trung Nam E&C Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company, Bac Trung Nam Infrastructure Construction Joint Stock Company, and Trung Chinh Company Limited successfully conducted a load test of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge.

From early morning, dozens of trucks loaded with goods gathered on Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, the cable-stayed section, for load testing. According to the contractors, this is a mandatory procedure before the bridge is officially put into use.

Each load test lasts about 10 - 20 minutes, dozens of trucks follow each other running across Rach Mieu 2 bridge in both directions.

According to the My Thuan Project Management Board ( Ministry of Construction ), after a period of intense construction, it is expected that by July 31, the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge construction investment project connecting Dong Thap and Vinh Long provinces will complete all items, 6 months ahead of schedule.

Currently, contractors are continuing to conduct experiments to measure cable-stayed vibrations, shock absorbers, and carry out bridge load testing... and are expected to complete the entire Rach Mieu 2 Bridge on July 31.

The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge construction investment project connecting Vinh Long and Dong Thap provinces has its starting point at Dong Tam intersection (intersection between National Highway 1 and Provincial Road 870) in Dong Thap province and its end point at km16+660 of National Highway 60, about 0.71km from the northern abutment of Ham Luong Bridge in Vinh Long province.

Rach Mieu 2 main bridge is designed as a cable-stayed bridge, the length of Rach Mieu 2 bridge is 1,971.2m; level III plain road, 4 lanes, total project length is about 17.6km. The project has a total investment of 6,810.11 billion VND from the state budget.
