The former Napoli star is currently behind Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah in the Bayern Munich central defence, with only six appearances this season, totalling 326 minutes of play.
According to journalist Matteo Moretto, if the situation does not improve, Kim could completely leave the Bavarian club in the January 2026 transfer window. Both AC Milan and Juventus are closely monitoring the situation of the 28-year-old midfielder.
Juventus see Kim as a temporary solution to fill the void left by Gleison Bremer's knee injury. Milan, on the other hand, want to strengthen their defense in the context of their big ambitions in Serie A.
Kim himself turned down lucrative offers in Saudi Arabia to continue playing top-level football in Europe. This move makes Serie A a viable option for Kim to revive his career.
However, the barrier lies in the huge salary. Kim earns around 9 million euros per year at Bayern, a figure that is too high compared to the general level of Italian football, especially for the center-back position. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport , Kim will certainly have to accept a significant reduction in income to return to Serie A.
Joining Bayern for 57 million euros in 2023 after a stellar season helping Napoli win Serie A, Kim became the most expensive player in South Korean football history and has maintained this position to this day.
