Jobe is sought after by many clubs. |
The deal is in the final stages of negotiations and is likely to be completed soon with a transfer fee of around 30 million euros.
The fee was initially revealed by BILD as a fixed €25m, however Sky Germany said the total deal could rise to €30m if bonuses were included.
Jobe Bellingham, 21, is the younger brother of Jude Bellingham, who starred for Dortmund before moving to Real Madrid. Jobe's remarkable growth at Sunderland in the Championship has quickly attracted the attention of many big clubs in Serie A, Bundesliga and Premier League.
Eintracht Frankfurt were the frontrunners for Jobe, but were dropped after the player opted for Dortmund. RB Leipzig also showed interest but did not make a move.
Last season, Jobe showed impressive form with 43 appearances in the Championship, scoring 4 goals, assisting 3 times, playing flexibly in both midfield and attack.
Dortmund's board of directors have shown great determination to sign this young talent. Head coach Niko Kovac and senior officials of the club flew directly to Sunderland to convince Bellingham. More recently, sporting director Sebastian Kehl also had a personal meeting with the player in Ibiza, a clear sign that Dortmund prioritizes Bellingham as part of their long-term plans.
If everything goes smoothly, Bellingham will become Dortmund's first notable signing in the 2025 summer transfer window.
The arrival of Bellingham's younger brother at Signal Iduna Park will certainly create great excitement among the black and yellow team's fans, and open a new chapter in the career of Jobe, who is expected to continue Jude's success story in the Bundesliga.
