The Telegraph reports that Chelsea and Sterling are keen to find a "long-term solution" after the striker failed to find a place in Enzo Maresca's squad. A loan deal for Sterling could be on the cards for the remainder of the summer.
Sterling has endured a disappointing season on loan at Arsenal. He still has two years left on his Chelsea contract, which is worth £325,000 a week. Fulham have expressed an interest in Sterling, who is said to want to stay in London with his family.
Chelsea have signed a number of attacking players this summer, including Jamie Gittens, Liam Delap and Joao Pedro. Sterling's priority in Maresca's squad has fallen even further, with him currently training away from the first team.
In addition to Sterling, Chelsea are working to sell or loan out nine other players, including Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Renato Veiga, Axel Disasi, Carney Chukwuemeka, Ben Chilwell and possibly Tyrique George in the next two weeks.
Chelsea have also received interest from European clubs in Argentine player Aaron Anselmino.
The Daily Mail predicts Chelsea will raise around £300m from player sales. The Stamford Bridge club hope to bring their net spend down to near zero after a previous spending spree.
