Phu Tho Province Market Management Department strengthens market control to protect consumer rights

VTV.vn - In the last months of 2025, the Market Management Force of Phu Tho province will strengthen the implementation of solutions to inspect and control the market, protecting consumer rights.

Pursuant to Conclusion No. 167-KL/TW dated June 13, 2025 of the Politburo and the Secretariat on the policy of reorganizing the apparatus and administrative units, putting into operation at the provincial and communal levels simultaneously from July 1, 2025, the three provinces of Phu Tho, Hoa Binh and Vinh Phuc have been merged into the new Phu Tho province. Accordingly, the Provincial Market Management Department has completed the organizational structure of the Phu Tho Provincial Market Management Department, which was merged from the three provinces of Phu Tho, Hoa Binh and Vinh Phuc.

After the merger, the Market Management Department of Phu Tho province quickly stabilized its organization, implemented solutions to inspect and control the market, protect consumer rights and maintain commercial order in the area.

Activities in the first 9 months of the year achieved many positive results.

In the first 9 months of 2025, the economic, cultural and social situation in Phu Tho province was relatively stable, political security was maintained, social order and safety were ensured. The retail market of goods was bustling, people's purchasing power at supermarket systems, shopping malls, traditional markets and retail stores... increased. Goods were diverse in design, rich in quantity and types to meet people's consumption needs during the Lunar New Year 2025, Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, April 30 and May 1 holidays and National Day September 2 holidays. In particular, there was no speculation, hoarding of goods, excessive price increases, causing market instability.

That result was partly thanks to the management of the Provincial Market Management Department. The Department closely followed the direction of the Government, the Provincial Steering Committee 389, the People's Committee of Phu Tho province, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development to develop and implement programs and plans in a timely manner, in accordance with regulations. Market inspection and control work was carried out with focus, key points, regularly and synchronously, with close coordination between levels and sectors in inspection and handling of administrative violations. In the first 9 months of 2025, the Department inspected 266 cases, handled 170 cases, and paid the State budget more than 3 billion VND.

Develop a schedule for receiving citizens and assign civil servants to regularly receive citizens according to the law. In the first 9 months of 2025, no citizens came to the Branch's headquarters to request citizen reception; the Branch received petitions and reflections sent to the Branch for resolution, and transferred the petitions and reflections to the affiliated Digital Market Management Teams to review, verify and inspect in accordance with the law.

Timely reporting on the activities of the Market Management on the Department's website and mass media, thereby enhancing the position and role of the Market Management force and contributing to changes in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.

The synchronous coordination has created a connection between the Market Management force and functional forces, contributing to improving the effectiveness in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods; promptly preventing and strictly handling organizations and individuals violating the law in production and business activities.

The collective leadership and civil servants of the Market Management Department of Phu Tho province always uphold the spirit of responsibility and sense of organization and discipline, and unify to well perform the political tasks of the unit.

The work of propagating and disseminating policies and laws on the management of trade and industrial activities in Phu Tho province has always been directed by the Department to its affiliated Market Management Teams and identified as one of the important and regular tasks in 2025. In the first 9 months of 2025, the Department carried out propaganda through 266 inspection and control activities, signed commitments with 1,156 production and business establishments; Coordinated with Phu Tho Provincial Radio and Television Station to develop a column on Anti-smuggling, Counterfeit Goods - Consumer Protection on PTV channel, published on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month; Posted 25 news articles on inspection and control activities of the market management force on the Electronic Information Portal of the Phu Tho Provincial Market Management Department.

Strengthening propaganda, legal training, improving professional capacity for civil servants, regularly reviewing and updating new documents to ensure market management in accordance with legal regulations.

Proactively develop plans and action plans, advise the Head of Steering Committee 389/PT; establish interdisciplinary inspection teams to inspect and control essential goods and groups of goods with high consumer demand, directly affecting people's lives and health.
