On the occasion of attending the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea, on the afternoon of October 10, General Secretary To Lam met with Chairman of the United Russia Party and Vice Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.
General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam always attaches importance to the cooperative relationship with the United Russia Party, emphasizing that Vietnam consistently regards Russia as an important strategic partner. The two sides agreed to continue promoting the cooperation channel between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the United Russia Party; welcomed exchanges between the two parties' young generations and cooperation between the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the United Russia Party School.
General Secretary To Lam conveyed his regards to Russian President Putin and senior Russian leaders; thanked Russia for sending a delegation to attend the ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2.

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Medvedev conveyed President Putin's regards to General Secretary To Lam and key leaders of Vietnam; conveyed the regards of the Russian Government and people to the Vietnamese people, shared the losses and damages caused by storms and floods; wished Vietnam a successful organization of the 14th National Party Congress, moving forward to achieve even greater victories.
The two leaders agreed to continue to strengthen political trust, increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially at high levels; effectively implement the Master Plan on Vietnam-Russia cooperation until 2030 and the agreements reached in recent times; promote economic, trade and investment cooperation; remove barriers and further open markets for each other's exports; continue to create conditions for businesses of the two countries to strengthen cooperation in the fields of oil and gas - energy, science and technology; strengthen security and defense cooperation; expand local cooperation and transportation; improve the effectiveness of cooperation in education - training, health, culture, sports and tourism; promote cooperation in energy, oil and gas, nuclear power; and promote labor cooperation, including agricultural labor.
On behalf of key Vietnamese leaders, General Secretary To Lam respectfully invited President Putin and Vice Chairman of the Russian Security Council Medvedev to soon visit Vietnam again.
