Present at the training ground of the female signal corps of the Signal Corps, we encountered the touching sight of sisters adjusting each other's uniforms and training equipment. These were Captain Nhữ Hồng Chiên and Lieutenant Nhữ Thị Chang, both born and raised in Thái Nguyên province. Chiên graduated from Thái Nguyên Medical and Pharmaceutical Vocational School, and Chang graduated from Thái Nguyên College of Economics and Finance. Despite having relatively stable jobs and incomes, both volunteered to enlist to fulfill their dream of serving in the military.

After a period of study and training, in 2015, Nhữ Hồng Chiên was transferred by her superiors to work at Warehouse KV3, Department of Military Equipment, General Department of Logistics and Technology. In 2022, Nhữ Thị Chang was fortunate enough to work in the same unit as her sister. It was an honor and a source of pride that both were selected to participate in the parade formation at the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd.
To be included in the team, both went through very strict preliminary selection rounds, including health checks, height, weight, and appearance assessments. During their initial training at Battalion 88, Brigade 134 (Signal Corps), they went through each stage of training, from basic individual and group drills to formation drills, building upon the foundation of coordinated drills in two rows, three rows, one-third of a block, half a block... and then a whole block, ensuring they met the requirements of correct, uniform, strong, beautiful, and dignified movements. “The biggest difficulty for us was the high intensity of training, the strict requirements for individual movements and coordination when marching in formations, while the weather was hot and unpredictable. However, these difficulties were not obstacles; instead, we saw them as a measure, a test of our perseverance and determination on the path to realizing our dreams,” Chiên confided.
When asked which exercise they found most difficult, both Chien and Chang laughed and unanimously replied, "Leg stretching." Chien then explained, "The arm swings are combined with leg stretching because this movement requires the legs to be stretched for a period of time, while the body remains straight and upright, with the center of gravity and the weight of the entire body concentrated on one leg as the pivot."
In the coming period, training will be intense, under hot weather conditions, but Chang and Chien affirm that they will work together to successfully complete the mission. For them, this is not only a political task but also a source of pride and a tribute from the younger generation to their fathers and ancestors who fell in the struggle for national independence and nation-building.
