Thai Nguyen is the locality most heavily affected by storm No. 11 (storm Matmo) with 48 communes and wards deeply flooded, and the electricity, traffic and communication systems paralyzed for many days.
Immediately after the flood receded, the whole province entered a large-scale “reconstruction”. In particular, Thai Nguyen Provincial Post Office quickly stabilized postal operations and ensured the timely, safe and accurate payment of pensions and social insurance benefits to beneficiaries.

According to the records at Mo Bach Post Office, although the roads are still difficult to travel due to mud and scattered belongings after the flood, people have been present very early to receive their pensions. Mr. Le Duy Vi (76 years old, Phan Dinh Phung ward) emotionally shared: “My house and this whole neighborhood were the most heavily flooded areas a few days ago. Yesterday, when I received the notice to receive my pension, I was very happy, I didn't think it would be paid so quickly. Today, I came early and received my pension, which made me feel somewhat secure. The post office ladies also asked if they needed any support. At a time like this, their concern is truly precious.”
Ms. Ninh Thi Van Anh, Director of Thai Nguyen Regional Post Office, said: The unit has arranged 13 payment points, making payments totaling nearly 18.7 billion VND to 3,368 beneficiaries. Previously, Thai Nguyen Regional Post Office had reviewed points with qualified facilities such as village/commune/ward cultural houses, post offices as well as roads to ensure safety for people and payment staff.

For the payment points at the Cultural Houses of residential groups whose facilities were swept away by floodwaters or were flooded and severely damaged, the unit has sent vehicles to transport tables, chairs, and equipment to the payment points to ensure the best service to the people. In the flooded areas of wards where the roads have not been cleared, the unit has arranged to move the payment points to the Ward/Commune Post Offices for more convenient travel.
Previously, Thai Nguyen Regional Post Office coordinated with the Ward People's Committee, Head of Residential Group, etc. to announce the post-flood pension payment schedule to all beneficiaries in the area via loudspeakers and Zalo messages to help people grasp the information and proactively arrange a time to receive it.

“Although most of the staff and workers of Thai Nguyen Regional Post Office were severely affected - their houses were deeply flooded, their vehicles were severely damaged, the unit mobilized all its resources, coordinated and arranged appropriate personnel to ensure the payment was made quickly and smoothly, ensuring the right person, the right amount of money and above all, the safety and rights of the beneficiaries,” Ms. Van Anh added.
Mr. Tran Cao Hoai, Director of Thai Nguyen Provincial Post Office, said: The payment was made safely, to the right recipients, with the right amount, with the coordination of local authorities. By October 13, 2025, all beneficiaries in the province had been fully paid.
