Issue of postage stamps commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day

On the afternoon of August 26, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Science and Technology coordinated with the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize a special issuance ceremony of a postage stamp set commemorating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

Attending the event were Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia, Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for the celebration of major holidays and important events of the country in the three years 2023-2025; Party Central Committee members: Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture and Social Affairs Nguyen Dac Vinh; Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh.

The stamp set includes 1 stamp and 1 block, representing an important historical milestone, the day President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

In particular, the stamp set also conveys a message of infinite gratitude for the great contributions of the great President Ho Chi Minh, the genius leader of the Party and our nation, along with revolutionary predecessors and millions of heroic martyrs who fought and sacrificed for the independence, sovereignty , unity and territorial integrity of the Fatherland.

The stamp set is also an affirmation that, after 80 years of construction and development, the lives of Vietnamese people are increasingly prosperous and happy, the country is constantly innovating and integrating deeply, continuing to step firmly into a new era - an era of sustainable development and prosperity.

The stamp depicts the image of President Ho Chi Minh, depicted in a modern graphic art style, both solemn and familiar. His face is gentle, his eyes shining with faith and aspiration for independence and freedom for the nation. Simple but delicate lines, combined with the dominant red and yellow colors of the National Flag, create a strong highlight, honoring the great leader, the immortal symbol of patriotism, self-reliance and aspiration for peace of the Vietnamese people.

The block model shows the national emblem and the map of the Fatherland. The block background uses the image of a bronze drum, a symbol of a thousand years of civilization, reminding us of the historical roots and depth of national culture.

The stamps are 32x43mm in size; the block is 80x100mm in size with face values ​​of 4,000 VND and 19,000 VND. The stamp set was designed by artist Nguyen Du (Vietnam Post Corporation); supplied nationwide at provincial, municipal, central post offices, and transaction post offices from August 26, 2025 to June 30, 2027.
