(GLO)- According to the Gia Lai Provincial Center for Disease Control, the first phase of the 2023 campaign to supplement high-dose Vitamin A for children aged 6-59 months, deworm children aged 24-60 months, and weigh children aged 0-60 months will take place in June 2023.
The campaign aims to achieve > 97.5% of children aged 6-60 months receiving Vitamin A; > 99% of children aged 24-60 months receiving deworming; > 93% of children aged 0-60 months receiving weight. At the same time, the campaign will strengthen communicationand education activities to raise awareness among mothers in preventing Vitamin A deficiency and worm infections in the community.

For the campaign to be implemented smoothly, localities should base on the actual situation and specific conditions to develop a suitable campaign implementation plan, ensuring that all children of the right age can take the medicine. In addition, localities should proactively decide how to organize the campaign in an appropriate manner, organize the campaign to ensure safety, hygiene and follow professional instructions.
It is known that in the first phase of the 2023 Vitamin A Supplementation, Deworming and Child Weighing Campaign, the Gia Lai Provincial Center for Disease Control received 155,500 Vitamin A tablets, including 144,000 Vitamin A tablets of 200,000 IU and 11,500 Vitamin A tablets of 100,000 IU provided by the Central Highlands Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology. The above Vitamin A capsules and deworming medicine will be distributed to the Medical Centers of districts, towns, cities and Military Hospital 15 to implement the campaign.
