The New Zealand Navy warship TE MANA, captained by Lieutenant Colonel Lisa Hunn and 178 officers and sailors, docked in Ho Chi Minh City, beginning a visit from September 25 to 29.
This visit of the TE MANA ship is meaningful in contributing to strengthening the defense cooperation relationship between Vietnam and New Zealand.
Lieutenant Colonel Lisa Hunn said that this is one of two main warships of the Royal New Zealand Navy, along with the ship TE KAHA, which visited Da Nang in June 2017.
With a length of 118 m and a width of 14.8 m, TE MANA has a displacement of 3,600 tons, reaching a maximum speed of 27 knots.
The ship is equipped with short-range RIM-7 Sea Sparrow and medium-range RIM-162 ESSM air defense missiles, Mark 46 lightweight anti-submarine torpedoes and a SH-2G Super Seasprite naval helicopter.
