New soldier donated blood 11 times

Recently, during the 2023 Voluntary Blood Donation Festival organized by Division 363 (Air Defense - Air Force) in coordination with the 108 Military Central Hospital, we learned that soldier Nguyen Khanh Hung, born in 1998, from Lam Ha ward, Kien An district, Hai Phong city, soldier of Company 1, New Soldier Training Battalion of the Division, had donated blood 11 times.

In September 2018, Nguyen Khanh Hung donated blood for the first time while he was a student at Vietnam Maritime University. Hung's most memorable memory was in September 2019, while studying in the lecture hall, Hung heard the announcement from Hai Phong Medical University Hospital that they needed people with blood type A to donate blood to save an accident patient. Realizing that the person needing blood had the same blood type as him, Hung asked the school's permission to go to the hospital to donate blood, contributing to saving the patient's life.

Every year, Hung volunteers to donate blood 2 to 3 times. During the Covid-19 outbreak, Hung had just graduated from university and was hired as an office worker at a company in Binh Duong . The tense epidemic made traveling difficult, and local epidemic prevention regulations were also very strict, requiring full vaccination and a travel permit to go out. Despite the difficulties, when he saw the information calling for people to donate blood to help Covid-19 patients, without anyone's encouragement, Hung proactively completed all the procedures and went to the hospital to donate blood. In addition, Hung also mobilized many friends, colleagues, and relatives to donate blood.

Talking about the work of the unit's soldiers, Captain Le Ngoc Que, Captain of Company 1, commented: "Nguyen Khanh Hung is a new soldier who is very active in training and practice; enthusiastic, responsible, and has many contributions to the union activities and youth movements in the unit. In life, Hung is always gentle, sincere, open and ready to help everyone. Hung's blood donation has been promptly commended by the Party Committee and unit commander, and encouraged for officers and soldiers to learn and follow."
