On hot days, high temperatures cause the demand for cooling devices to increase dramatically in all households, businesses, agencies, and units... The skyrocketing electricity consumption leads to potential risks of overload and fire; especially if the power line system is degraded, overlapped, temporarily connected, or threaded through many flammable objects, or due to poor quality electrical equipment; or even due to carelessness and negligence of electricity users. In addition, when the weather is hot, electrical equipment and motors emit a lot of heat, materials become dry and easily ignited... also contributing to increasing the risk of incidents. Therefore, raising public awareness and mobilizing the entire population to participate in fire prevention and fighting must be given more attention and promotion, so that responding to "fire" must always be a responsibility and a regular, continuous task.
To use electricity safely, the Fire Police force always recommends that people should regularly check and maintain the electrical system; select and install electrical wires, electrical consumption equipment, and appropriate protection with clear origin. In particular, it is necessary to avoid using too many electrical consumption devices at the same time during peak hours; do not arbitrarily connect or thread electrical wires; do not let electrical consumption devices come into contact with flammable materials such as blankets, mattresses, and foam; do not use many electrical consumption devices at the same time on the same outlet...
Propaganda and dissemination of fire prevention and fighting laws to the community have also been promoted on this occasion in many forms. Typically, recently, the Provincial Police continued to successfully organize the provincial-level "Fire Prevention and Fighting Safety Inter-family Team" contest in 2025, with the participation of nearly 200 contestants divided into 13 teams, representing 13 localities in the province. The contest content includes questions and answers to test basic knowledge of fire prevention and fighting and rescue at households; practice fire fighting, rescue and rescue operations in a hypothetical fire situation in the type of adjacent houses combined with production and business. Not only is it an opportunity for contestants to exchange and compete, the contest has achieved the greatest success in contributing to further raising the awareness of the whole society about the responsibility and important role of the whole population in participating in fire prevention and fighting, especially in residential areas.
The model of "Fire Prevention and Fighting Safety Inter-family Team" has been effectively implemented since 2022, gradually expanding to all residential areas in the province. Up to now, the province has built and effectively maintained nearly 1,560 such models, helping each residential area have at least 1 core force trained in fire prevention and fighting knowledge and skills, equipped with fire prevention and fighting equipment, and supporting each other. Along with that, there are nearly 600 public fire extinguisher locations in alleys, mobilizing each household to equip themselves with fire extinguishers; continuously having working groups at the grassroots level directly "going to each alley, knocking on each door" to guide and advise on the installation of appropriate fire fighting equipment and means; reminding people to be careful when burning votive paper, using gas stoves, using electricity during rush hours... At agencies, units, and schools, attention is also paid to checking fire alarm and fighting systems according to regulations; Coordinate training sessions and practice safety skills.
The movement of the entire people to prevent fire and explosion associated with the movement of the entire people to protect national security and order is being focused on by localities in the province, determining that prevention must be the main focus; making fire and explosion prevention a voluntary awareness of the community.
Implementing well the "4 on-site" motto in fire prevention and fighting work including: On-site command, on-site force, on-site means and on-site logistics supplies. The motto is set to promptly detect, prevent and extinguish fires and limit damage to people and property when professional fire fighting forces have not yet reached the scene. Each citizen must be fully equipped with knowledge, skills and equipment to handle fires and explosions, in which it is necessary to focus on prevention work, so that each citizen can accompany the functional forces on the front line against "fire". |
