Bac Ninh Chairman requests to thoroughly handle the school merger case in Phuc Hoa

Faced with the situation that some people in Phuc Hoa commune have not agreed to send their children to the new school, Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan has directed to absolutely ensure security and order.

Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan has just given instructions on ensuring security and order when rearranging and reorganizing educational facilities in the province.

Previously, in the first days of the new school year 2025-2026, many parents in Hau village (Phuc Hoa commune, Bac Ninh province) still brought their children to the old school of Lien Chung Kindergarten, even though the new school was more than 2km away.

Some parents said they did not agree to send their children to the new kindergarten because the road was further (some families lived about 5 km away) and thought the old school was "still usable".

Faced with this development, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Education and Training, the People's Committee of Phuc Hoa commune and relevant departments and branches to strengthen the work of grasping the situation, coordinate with Lien Chung Kindergarten to promote propaganda, mobilization, and dialogue with the people. Organize mobilization of individuals, create consensus in sending students to study at the central school.

In case the people are determined to keep the satellite school in Hau village, Phuc Hoa commune, they must take responsibility for the quality of education for their children.

Many items of the old school are degraded, the Commune People's Committee has announced to move the school location, but many people have not agreed.

In addition, the People's Committees of communes and wards across the province were also directed to review and proactively develop plans to merge and eliminate separate schools in accordance with grassroots democracy regulations, in order to create the highest consensus among the people and avoid complications in security and order.

The Provincial Police directs the Commune and Ward Police and specialized units to do a good job of grasping the situation in the area and on cyberspace; clearly grasp the number of petitions requesting to keep the satellite schools, the number of petitions with opposing attitudes, inciting people to oppose the State's policies (if any) to have deterrent measures. Along with that, continue to advise local Party committees and authorities to strengthen propaganda, mobilize people, promptly prevent and stop acts that complicate security and order, and handle extremists and troublemakers.

The new Lien Chung Kindergarten is spacious and well-built.

Regarding the incident in which many parents in Hau village have not agreed to send their children to the new central school because they think the road is far and the old school is still usable, Mr. Pham Van Han, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Hoa commune, said that the government has had a dialogue, and at the same time affirmed that they are not comfortable letting their children continue to study at the old, degraded school, while there is a new facility that meets National standards level 2 with full classrooms and functional rooms.

Nearly 100 parents in Phuc Hoa commune (Bac Ninh province) do not send their children to the newly invested modern school, but let their children sit outside the gate of the old, degraded school. The reason given is that the new school is further away.
