The motorcade escorted Indonesian President Joko Widodo to the Presidential Palace. President Vo Van Thuong welcomed the President at the parking lot, shaking hands warmly to welcome the President leading the high-ranking Indonesian delegation on a state visit to Vietnam.
Amidst the welcoming music, President Vo Van Thuong invited President Joko Widodo to step up to the podium, while the military band played the Vietnamese and Indonesian national anthems.

A special feature of the welcoming ceremony was that during the performance of the national anthems of the two countries, the host country Vietnam fired a cannon salute to welcome the President of Indonesia on a state visit to Vietnam.
After the National Anthem, the captain of the Guard of Honor respectfully invited the President of Indonesia and President Vo Van Thuong to review the Guard of Honor of the Vietnam People's Army.
