On the morning of February 25, at Truong Bon National Historical Site, Do Luong District, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union coordinated with Nghe An Province to organize the launching ceremony of the Tree Planting Festival "Forever grateful to Uncle Ho" in the Spring of Giap Thin and the launching ceremony of Youth Month 2024 with the theme "Youth volunteers for community life" with many practical and meaningful activities.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Comrade Vuong Dinh Hue - Politburo member, National Assembly Chairman attended and delivered a speech to encourage and assign tasks to the youth of the whole country; handing over the torch to light the fire of enthusiasm and dedication to the young generation today, contributing to building a prosperous and happy Vietnam.
The program was attended by comrades of the Party Central Committee: Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture and Education; Y Thanh Ha Nie K'dam - Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council; Le Quang Huy - Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Science, Technology and Environment; Pham Tat Thang - Deputy Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission; Do Trong Hung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Council. CHOOSE APPROPRIATE AND PRACTICAL VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES
Since 2004, the Central Party Secretariat has chosen March every year as "Youth Month" to create a widespread and practical movement of young people competing to volunteer and actively participate in economic development, maintaining national security and defense;...
After 20 years, “Youth Month” has truly made its mark in the youth volunteer movement, attracting tens of millions of young people and a large number of people from all walks of life to participate and respond; it is an environment for young people to express their enthusiasm, desire to contribute, demonstrate their spirit of dedication, not afraid of hardships, volunteering in difficult and new tasks, to remote areas, borders, and islands.
Responding to the theme of Youth Month 2024, "Youth volunteers for community life", Youth Union chapters at all levels across the country have proactively registered projects, tasks, and activities, including: 13,304 youth volunteer teams participating in activities; 6,237 youth projects implemented with a total value of 158 billion VND; 850 areas with ethnic minorities and 61,880 people and children who are ethnic minorities were supported; 29,865 maps of Vietnam were presented by Youth Union chapters and Associations at all levels; 10,685 volunteer activities participating in new rural construction; 6,054 volunteer activities participating in civilized urban construction; 9,288 volunteer activities participating in environmental protection, responding to climate change, and preventing epidemics; 8,737 volunteer activities participating in ensuring traffic order and safety; 11,683 volunteer activities to ensure social security and community life; 271,843 new members were admitted.
In his welcoming speech, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Thai Thanh Quy affirmed that the tree planting movement every time Tet comes has become a traditional cultural beauty of our people, bringing great benefits to the economy, society, environment and the task of planting trees and afforestation has always been of interest and focus to the Party Committee, government and people in the province.
Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy emphasized: This year's Spring Tree Planting Festival 2024 is very exciting and more meaningful when associated with the "Launching Ceremony of Youth Month 2024" - an important and widespread political activity of young people nationwide; arousing and promoting the spirit of vanguard, volunteerism and creativity of young people participating in activities for the benefit of the community.
Providing some key information about the natural characteristics and socio-economic development of the province, the Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee affirmed: The development achievements in recent times are the result of the efforts of the entire Party Committee, the active contributions of all levels, sectors, and people of all walks of life, including nearly 1 million union members and youth of the province.
A year begins with spring, a life begins with youth, one of the important activities of the province at the beginning of the Spring of Giap Thin 2024 associated with the youthful, vibrant, enthusiastic spirit of the youth, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy believes that through this, the spirit of solidarity, innovation, creativity, and enthusiasm for work will spread more widely, more, urging higher determination, greater efforts among the people to best complete the key goals and tasks identified in 2024.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of the Tree Planting Festival "Forever grateful to Uncle Ho" and the launching of Youth Month 2024, Comrade Bui Quang Huy - First Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union emphasized the significance of the 20-year journey since the day the Party and State agreed to choose March every year as Youth Month (March 2004 - March 2024).
To effectively implement Youth Month 2024, the Central Youth Union Secretariat requested that Youth Union chapters at all levels seriously and creatively implement 3 groups of key activities in the Youth Month Plan that the Central Youth Union has issued in accordance with local and unit conditions.
In particular, the First Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union emphasized: 2024 is a year with many important anniversaries of the country and the Union; therefore, the Youth Union at the ministerial level deploys and organizes activities to propagate and educate the historical traditions of the Party and the Union.
The implementation of propaganda and education activities needs to be associated with the activities of building the Youth Union and the activities of the Youth Union participating in Party building; it is necessary to aim for the goal of admitting a truly quality class of members to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Ly Tu Trong, and introducing many outstanding members who are worthy of joining the Party.
Youth Month must be a bridge between the Youth and the Party and the Government; between the Youth and leaders at all levels so that the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of the Youth are taken into consideration and facilitated to be implemented; so that the expectations of the Party Committees and the Government at all levels for the Youth are realized by the Youth through specific tasks, programs and projects assigned to the Youth.
The First Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union also requested that all levels of the Youth Union should select appropriate and practical volunteer activities; the implementation form must be scientific and substantial; the effectiveness of the projects and tasks must be sustainable.
In the method of implementing Youth Month activities, comrade Bui Quang Huy requested that all levels of the Youth Union pay great attention to the application of information technology and digital transformation in directing and organizing youth gathering, in allocating resources, and coordinating youth teams.
In addition to launching the Youth Month 2024, which is the launching ceremony for the youth nationwide to participate in the "Tet tree planting festival to forever remember Uncle Ho", the First Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union called on each member and youth, depending on their ability and conditions, to actively participate in planting new trees, taking care of trees, and joining hands to successfully implement the target of planting 100 million new trees for the 2022-2027 term that the Union has determined.
STRONGLY INITIATE THE FLAME OF YOUTH PASSION, DESERVING TO BE THE PILLAR OF THE COUNTRY
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue warmly commended and congratulated the achievements of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the youth of the whole country in organizing Youth Month in recent years and assigned tasks to the youth of the whole country.
Accordingly, comrade Vuong Dinh Hue highly appreciated the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee for choosing the theme of the year 2024 as "Year of Youth Volunteers", identifying the theme of this year's Youth Month as "Youth Volunteers for Community Life"; organizing the Youth Month Kick-off Ceremony and "Tet Tree Planting Festival to Forever Remember Uncle Ho" at the same time, demonstrating the spirit of action and high determination of the Youth Union chapters at all levels.
To successfully implement Youth Month and the Youth Union's work program in 2024, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue noted and emphasized: 2024 is a year of special importance, the whole country is accelerating the implementation of socio-economic development tasks, striving to achieve and exceed the goals and targets of the term; It is also the year marking many special events of significance in the youth volunteer movement, commemorating the 60th anniversary of the "Three Readies" movement, 10 years of the "Year of Youth Volunteers" and 25 years of the "Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign".
In the context that the country is still facing many difficulties and challenges, Party committees and authorities at all levels, especially the Youth Union at all levels, need to continue to have a deeper awareness of the role and position of youth as a great force, the backbone of the country, the vanguard force in building and defending the Fatherland, one of the decisive factors in the success or failure of the cause of industrialization, modernization, international integration, and building socialism; thoroughly grasp the direction of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the 12th National Youth Union Congress, term 2022-2027: "Young people must be pioneers and volunteers in carrying out political tasks; in difficult and new tasks; ready to share for the community; volunteer to go to remote, isolated, and disadvantaged areas; to the poor and disadvantaged; ready to go anywhere, do anything the Fatherland needs".
From there, create all conditions to strongly arouse the enthusiasm of young people, promote the strength and creativity of the youth force in carrying out the political tasks of each locality and unit.
“I especially hope that young people will first of all do their best in their positions, making important contributions to the implementation of the common goals of their agencies, units and the whole country,” the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.
At the same time, the Youth Union at all levels needs to summarize both theory and practice over 20 years of organizing and implementing Youth Month; constantly innovate and be creative in selecting content, designing and organizing activities, so that Youth Month can fulfill its mission as codified in the Youth Law, continue to develop to a new level, become more profound, practical, effective, have a wider and more sustainable spread, and better meet the requirements of both caring for, accompanying and promoting the role of young people.
Youth Union chapters at all levels also need to do better in education work, promote the spirit of vanguard, volunteerism and creativity of young people, to participate in activities for the benefit of the community; build and mobilize organizations and individuals to invest in youth development and for Youth Month to continue to develop to a new level.
The National Assembly Chairman hopes that all levels of the Youth Union, union members and young people will continuously cultivate revolutionary ideals, strive to study, practice, contribute and build the country to become increasingly rich, beautiful and powerful, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world's great powers as Uncle Ho always wished.
Responding to the “Tet tree planting festival to forever remember Uncle Ho”, the National Assembly Chairman requested that all levels of the Youth Union and young people nationwide continue to effectively maintain good models and practices in tree planting, afforestation, environmental protection, and climate change prevention; regularly organize activities to care for and protect trees, and preserve a greener, cleaner, and more beautiful living environment.
Youth Month is also an opportunity for the Party, the State and the whole society to care for the youth. Comrade Vuong Dinh Hue suggested that Party committees at all levels, authorities, departments, ministries, branches and organizations at the Central level need to strengthen leadership, direction, guidance and coordination to effectively implement youth work; dialogue, listen, trust and assign tasks to the youth; increase the participation and contribution of children and teenagers; help the youth have the best opportunities and conditions to practice, strive and mature. Continue to care, support, create all favorable conditions and mechanisms for the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to effectively carry out its mission of caring for, educating, nurturing and promoting the role of the youth in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Quoting To Huu's poem about youth: "At 20 years old, the heart is still rushing with blood/At 20 years old, the soul is spinning in the storm/The tendons are tightening and the flesh is stretching/A passionate life promises so many flowers". With that meaning, on the occasion of launching the 20th Youth Month, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue hopes and wishes that Vietnamese Youth Month will always be "forever 20 years old".
2024 is also the 55th year of implementing President Ho Chi Minh's Testament, which has illuminated and guided the entire Party, the entire People and the young generation to always be steadfast and loyal to his revolutionary cause and ideals.
At the program, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue handed over the torch carried by 55 outstanding young people of Nghe An province from the Kim Lien National Special Relic Site, Nam Dan - Uncle Ho's hometown to Truong Bon - the historical symbol of Vietnam's Youth Volunteers, to comrade Bui Quang Huy - First Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to light the fire of volunteerism, officially launching Youth Month 2024.
On the occasion of the Youth Month 2024 Launch Ceremony and the Spring Tree Planting Festival of Giap Thin, the leaders and the Organizing Committee presented 50 gifts to 50 village elders, village chiefs, and prestigious people in the community.
The Central Youth Union presented 50 gifts to former Youth Volunteers in Nghe An province to show gratitude for their contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; presented 50 gifts and 50 bicycles to disadvantaged students who strived to study well. The Central Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association sponsored 20 orphaned students until they were 18 years old; 500,000 VND/child per month.
At the program, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union supported Nghe An Provincial Youth Union to implement social security activities, build livelihood models for people to develop the economy; build youth projects with a total value of resources to implement projects and youth work of more than 6 billion VND.
In addition, the torch relay from Nam Dan has also officially launched the 15th stage of the program "Steps for the community" - a meaningful activity to encourage each young person and person running or walking to contribute 1,000 VND to the fund to build a Community Cultural House for Dan Lai people in Chau Khe commune, Con Cuong district, Nghe An province with a value of 1 billion VND.
In order to enhance patriotic education and contribute to raising awareness of national sovereignty, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union launched the Campaign "Proud of a strip of mountains and rivers" nationwide, at all levels of the Youth Union, Associations, and Pioneers at home and abroad through the use of Vietnam maps in learning, working and community activities of young people and people. At the Program, the Central Committee of the Youth Union presented 1,000 maps of Vietnam and 500 national flags to Youth Union bases in Nghe An province.
At the launching ceremony of the tree to plant the "Grateful eternal of Uncle Ho" and the Ceremony of the Youth Month in 2024, the Central Youth Union and Nghe An province conducted 10,500 trees including casuarina trees, Bang Lang, especially planting new 70 Ban flower trees - symbolizing 70 years of Dien Bien Phu's victory has been breeding from Dien Bien province planted in the Truong Bon National Historical Site.
In the period of 2021 - 2023, Nghe An province has mobilized nearly VND 300 billion, planted over 33 million trees, making Nghe An the largest forest locality in the country, over 1 million hectares, contributing positively in reducing natural disasters, regulating climate, improving the ecological environment, socio -economic development of the province.
Immediately after the launch of the New Year planting the tree "Grateful to Uncle Ho" of the Spring of Thin Spring and the promotion of the Youth Month in 2024, Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue and the delegates attended the inauguration of the Green Library, the reading space, interactions and the team activities at Nam Thanh Commune Primary School, Nam Dan District.
