At the meeting with President of the Cambodian National Assembly Khuon Sudary, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man respectfully conveyed the greetings of General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to King Norodom Sihamoni, Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, and senior Cambodian leaders.
The National Assembly Chairman thanked the President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and President of the Senate Hun Sen for leading the high-ranking Cambodian delegation to attend the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam's National Day on September 2, along with the participation of the Cambodian armed forces in the parade, considering this a vivid demonstration of the good neighborly relationship, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability between the two countries.
The National Assembly Chairman stressed that Vietnam attaches great importance to the strategic significance of its relations with Cambodia as well as the relations between the three countries of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. The Chairman congratulated Cambodia on its recent achievements in national development, including the opening of Techo International Airport on September 9, and firmly believed that Cambodia would continue to achieve many comprehensive achievements in national construction and development.
National Assembly Chairman Khuon Sudary congratulated Vietnam on successfully organizing the event to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, considering this a strong demonstration of the mettle and determination of the Vietnamese people in the cause of national construction and defense.
President Khuon Sudary emphasized that the Cambodian people will never forget Vietnam's contribution in helping Cambodia escape genocide and rebirth. The two countries have always stood side by side in the past struggle for national independence as well as in the cause of national construction and development today.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and National Assembly Chairman Khuon Sudary highly appreciated the cooperation between the two countries in general and between the two countries' legislative bodies in particular, which has continued to be consolidated and developed in recent times; exchanges of delegations at high and all levels, including committees, parliamentarians, and Parliamentary Friendship Groups, have been maintained.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that the strong growth in bilateral trade with a turnover of 7 billion USD since the beginning of the year, up 16.3% over the same period last year, is vivid proof of the increasingly close economic-trade-investment cooperation between the two countries.
The two leaders also agreed that in the coming time, the two sides need to continue to strengthen political trust, regularly exchange visits and contacts at all levels through all channels; maintain contact between the two countries' parliaments to exchange experiences in the field of legislation, supervision and decision on important issues of the country; at the same time, continue to promote the role of the two countries' legislative bodies in promoting bilateral relations; supervise and promote ministries, branches, localities and enterprises to actively and effectively implement signed treaties, agreements and agreements.
The two Presidents also emphasized the potential for connecting the two economies of Vietnam and Cambodia, especially in transport, border gates, and border trade, thereby increasing trade and investment cooperation. The two sides also agreed to further promote tourism cooperation and people-to-people exchange, especially among the younger generation.
Discussing international issues, the two leaders also agreed to strengthen close coordination and mutual support at multilateral regional forums, including inter-parliamentary forums, emphasizing ASEAN's central role, contributing to peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

At a meeting with President of the National Assembly of Timor Leste Maria Fernanda Lay, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man congratulated Timor-Leste on becoming the 11th member of ASEAN at the 47th ASEAN Summit in October 2025 and affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to promoting and wishes to strengthen friendship and multifaceted cooperation with neighboring and regional countries, including Timor Leste.
On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man respectfully conveyed the greetings of General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Timor Leste's senior leaders.
President Tran Thanh Man said that Vietnam always supports and is willing to share good experiences with Timor-Leste in the process of integration into the ASEAN family. National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man suggested that the two sides promote the exchange of high-level delegations and work towards soon raising the bilateral relationship to a new height.
President of the National Assembly of Timor Leste Maria Fernanda Lay sincerely thanked Vietnam for always accompanying and supporting Timor Leste since Timor Leste became an observer and now a full member of ASEAN. President Fernanda Lay announced that the National Assembly of Timor Leste has ratified the Visa Exemption Agreement for diplomatic and official passport holders; hoped that Vietnam would soon open an embassy in Timor Leste and thanked Vietnam for always cooperating to ensure food security for Timor Leste.
To further promote cooperation in all aspects, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man suggested that the two sides soon organize the first meeting of the Joint Committee on Economic and Technical Cooperation between Vietnam and Timor-Leste to discuss specific measures to effectively exploit cooperation potential on the basis of the signed Agreement; effectively implement signed agreements as well as soon complete and strive to sign bilateral documents in the fields of education and training, rice trade, consulates, science and technology, tourism, clean energy, etc. during the visit of senior leaders.
Regarding cooperation between the two legislative bodies, the two leaders agreed to further strengthen cooperation between the two National Assemblies through measures such as exchanging delegations; sharing legislative experience, perfecting institutions; sharing information and contributing to improving the efficiency of parliamentary activities; coordinating to effectively monitor cooperation agreements between the two countries and facilitating comprehensive bilateral cooperation, including economic, local, business and people-to-people connections, etc.
Discussing international issues, both sides emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation, consolidate solidarity and the central role of ASEAN, especially in regional issues, and coordinate and support each other at regional and international forums and multilateral parliamentary forums.
