Lien Chieu Port is a long-term driving force for Da Nang
On November 11, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the working delegation inspected the progress and encouraged construction workers at the Lien Chieu Port - Shared Infrastructure Project (Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City).
Reporting on the project's construction progress, Mr. Le Thanh Hung - Director of the Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects in Da Nang, said that the Lien Chieu Port Project - the shared infrastructure part has a total investment of more than 3,426 billion VND from the central budget and Da Nang City budget.

The project started in December 2022, with a duration of 1,380 days and is expected to be completed by the end of November 2025. To date, the project has completed 15.8% of the contract value (approximately VND 416 billion), with the value of the accepted volume being over VND 409 billion. The project is on schedule and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
By the end of 2023, the project will strive to complete the road and drainage system items, reaching about 71.9% of the item value. The dredging item will reach about 14.9% of the item value. The dyke and breakwater items will reach about 28.6% of the item value.
After inspecting the project progress, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue praised and appreciated the investor and construction units for their efforts in completing the project, ensuring the set schedule. At the same time, he noted that the construction units must ensure the quality and progress of the project.
According to the National Assembly Chairman, the investment in Lien Chieu Port has a long-term vision. In the immediate future, it will be identified as a type 1 deep-water port, moving towards a special port. With a very important location, this will be an international gateway in the Central coastal region to the world, a connection point of the East-West Economic Corridor passing through 4 countries.
The National Assembly Chairman gave gifts to encourage workers and laborers constructing Lien Chieu port.
The investment in the regional project aims to enhance regional and inter-regional connectivity. The project will contribute to promoting the socio-economic development of Da Nang and the region, reducing the load on Tien Sa and Son Tra ports as well as the pressure on road traffic passing through Da Nang city. At the same time, the formation of Lien Chieu Port will contribute to building the economic "tripod" of Da Nang including logistics, industry and services, etc.
When put into use, the port's general wharf will have a capacity of 100,000 tons, and the container wharf will be 200,000 tons.
"There are few ports in the city of such scale," said the National Assembly Chairman, adding that the state will invest 3,000 billion VND in shared infrastructure and call on domestic and international investors to synchronize this port.

On the same day, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attended the National Great Unity Day at Residential Area No. 10, Hoa Hiep Bac Ward (Lien Chieu District, Da Nang).
Speaking at the festival, the National Assembly Chairman emphasized that national solidarity is a precious tradition of our nation. The Party and State always consider national solidarity as a strategy. The strength of national solidarity becomes an invincible strength, a decisive factor helping our country go from one victory to another.

In particular, they must effectively implement support policies for households in difficult circumstances who have to relocate their houses to serve the construction of the Lien Chieu port project.

The National Assembly Chairman also highly appreciated and thanked the people for accompanying and agreeing with the locality in implementing the Lien Chieu Port project in Hoa Hiep Bac ward.
According to the National Assembly Chairman, when implementing the project, it is inevitable that there will be problems arising and more or less affecting people's lives. However, if we want to move towards a green, clean and beautiful place as people say, a modern and prestigious place, we must have this step.
"In this area, a port city will be formed, with a port authority, a port city, very beautiful, very developed. This is one of the long-term driving forces for Da Nang in the coming time," the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.

On the occasion of the National Unity Day, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue presented 20 gifts to 20 disadvantaged families, policy beneficiaries, and war invalids. At the same time, he and the Central delegation also mobilized the Vietnam National Petroleum Group to support Da Nang with 5 billion VND to the Fund for the Poor to build 100 solidarity houses in this city.
On this occasion, Da Nang City leaders also presented 10 gifts to 10 policy families and those in difficult circumstances in residential area No. 10.
