On the afternoon of August 21, Mr. Tran Duy Dong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, received and worked with Mr. Keita Nakano, General Director of Toyota Vietnam Automobile Company. At the meeting, General Director of Toyota Vietnam Automobile Company Keita Nakano congratulated comrade Tran Duy Dong on being elected as Chairman of Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term.
The General Director of Toyota Vietnam Automobile Company said that after nearly 30 years of investment in Vinh Phuc, the company has always maintained the leading position in production and sales in the Vietnamese automobile market.
Currently, the company has 60 component suppliers, of which 11 suppliers are operating in the province, contributing to raising the localization rate to more than 40%. The company has 67 dealers in 31 provinces and cities nationwide. In 2023, the company sold nearly 60,000 vehicles and manufactured nearly 26,500 vehicles. In addition, the export of components and spare parts also brought the company nearly 74 million USD.
With the above business results, the company has contributed more than 873 million USD to the State budget, contributing to creating jobs for more than 1,500 workers, including 1,200 workers in Vinh Phuc.

In response to the news that the Government ’s decree on reducing registration fees for domestically produced cars is about to be implemented, the company has developed a plan to recruit 100 more workers, implement overtime to meet market demand; at the same time, send staff and workers to work in Japan to gain experience and improve their skills. In addition, the company also plans to build a new headquarters center, develop a plan to produce hybrid cars.
On this occasion, Mr. Keita Nakano hopes that the province will continue to accompany and support businesses in granting fire prevention and fighting certificates; propose and recommend to the Central Government some contents related to regulations on conditions for taking A1 driving license, adjusting special consumption tax applicable to all types of cars, continuing to reduce tax rates for hybrid cars, encouraging the production of environmentally friendly cars...
Appreciating the contributions of Toyota Vietnam Automobile Company to the socio-economic development of the province, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong affirmed that in the context of many difficulties and challenges in production and business activities of enterprises, the province will continue to accompany, support and create a favorable business environment for investors.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong hopes that businesses will continue to invest and expand production scale in the province; have new directions such as developing environmentally friendly hybrid vehicles.
Regarding proposals and recommendations from businesses, the province will continue to research and propose to the National Assembly and the Government as soon as possible.
