Preparing for the 2024 defense area exercise of Con Co island district

Implementing the directive of the General Staff and the Plan of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province on organizing the defense area (DAD) drill of Con Co island district in 2024, the Steering Committee for the Defense Area Drill of Con Co island district has just worked with Con Co island district on the drill contents.

According to the plan, the exercise will take place at the end of June 2024, with the theme: "Moving the district armed forces into combat readiness states, moving the locality into defense states; organizing preparations and practicing defensive operations, firmly protecting the district's military zone".

The exercise was conducted in three phases: Phase 1, moving armed forces into combat readiness states, and moving localities into defense states.

Phase 2, organizing combat preparations in the defense area.

Phase 3, practicing defensive operations, including handling situations on maps and sand tables. The live-fire exercise includes: The district infantry battalion is reinforced with some weapons and techniques to attack the enemy landing on the island.

To proactively prepare for the exercise, Con Co island district has established a steering committee, issued leadership and direction documents and assigned tasks to members.

At the meeting, the island district also reported and requested the Provincial Steering Committee to guide and assist the locality in some aspects of document drafting and to prepare well for the exercise.

Delegates attending the conference also focused on discussing and agreeing on the time and content, and proposed a number of solutions to contribute to the successful implementation of the exercise tasks.

Concluding the working session, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, Colonel Nguyen Huu Dan, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for the exercise of Con Co island district, highly appreciated the locality's preparations.

At the same time, it is requested that relevant agencies and units, during the preparation process, closely follow the instructions of superior agencies; fully prepare the drill content according to the determined plan and scheme.

Based on the content of the exercise and the tasks of the locality, mobilize forces, means and prepare materials to ensure sufficient conditions for the exercise to achieve high results and absolute safety; promote propaganda work to agencies, localities, units and people in the district about the purpose, meaning and importance of the exercise tasks, determined to successfully complete the KVPT exercise of Con Co island district in 2024.
