Prepare well for the opening ceremony of the two North-South expressways through Ha Tinh

On the morning of April 18, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van and his delegation inspected the construction progress and preparations for the technical opening ceremony of two North-South Expressway component projects in Ha Tinh.

Also attending were Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duy Lam, leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors and units.

Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van and the working delegation inspected the construction progress of the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway at the intersection with Provincial Road 550 in Luu Vinh Son commune, Thach Ha district.

Bai Vot – Ham Nghi is one of the two component projects of the North – South Eastern Expressway in the 2021 – 2025 period through Ha Tinh, which was technically opened to traffic on April 19 and put into operation on the main route from April 28. To date, the construction output of this section has reached 97% of the plan.

Bai Vot - Ham Nghi Expressway has completed 97% of the work volume compared to the set plan.

Along with Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway was also technically opened to traffic on April 19, and the main route was put into operation on April 28. Up to now, the construction output of Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway has reached nearly 99% of the plan.

Currently, the units are mobilizing vehicles and human resources to carry out some remaining tasks such as installing hard dividers, guardrail systems, road markings; installing signs on the route, building fences to protect the expressway corridor, ensuring it will be put into operation from April 28 in accordance with the direction of the Government and the Ministry of Construction.

Ham Nghi - Vung Ang Expressway will be put into operation on the main route from April 28.

After listening to the investor and contractor report on the construction progress, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van acknowledged and highly appreciated Ha Tinh's efforts in effectively implementing site clearance and supplying construction materials, contributing to the smooth construction of the project, ensuring progress according to the Central Government's requirements.

The Deputy Minister of Construction praised the investor - Thang Long Project Management Board and the two contractors, Corporation 319 (Ministry of National Defense), Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation (Vinaconex), and the supervising consultant for their efforts to ensure construction progress, shortening the construction time by 6 months compared to the plan.

Emphasizing that the technical opening ceremony of the two expressways Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang on April 19 is an important event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van requested the Thang Long Project Management Board to closely coordinate with Ha Tinh and related units to prepare well for all tasks, from reception, traffic flow, ensuring electricity, network connection, security and order so that the ceremony takes place solemnly and thoughtfully.

The Deputy Minister of Construction requested that after the opening ceremony, the investor and contractor continue to complete the work on the main route so that when put into operation, it will ensure safety and convenience for people and vehicles; the construction process must strictly comply with procedures and regulations, ensuring progress and quality of the project; and prepare plans and equipment to respond quickly and effectively to incidents (if any) during the operation of the route.

By the morning of April 18, Thang Long Project Management Board has been coordinating with the event organizer, departments and branches of the province such as: Department of Construction, Ha Tinh Telecommunications, Ha Tinh Newspaper, Provincial Police, Ha Tinh Electricity to deploy preparation work such as: reception, traffic flow, security and order, signal transmission system...

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha emphasized that the technical opening ceremony of the two expressways Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang is a particularly important event. Therefore, he requested agencies and units to focus on strictly implementing the assigned tasks; coordinate and support with the investor to implement the opening ceremony to ensure great success.
