Tourists from Poland, Switzerland and the Czech Republic are showing great interest in Vietnam as a destination, after the visa exemption policy for citizens from these three countries was announced.
Agoda Country Manager in Vietnam, Mr. Vu Ngoc Lam, said that the number of searches for accommodation in Vietnam from Poland increased by 306%, the Czech Republic increased by 155% and Switzerland increased by 68% compared to the same period in 2024. Previously, this group included Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the UK,
Statistics are based on accommodation search data on the Agoda platform from January 1 to June 23, 2025 for stays between March 1 and December 31, 2025. This is also the time when Vietnam applies a temporary visa exemption policy.
This policy allows international visitors for tourism purposes to stay in Vietnam without a visa for up to 45 days, contributing to expanding opportunities for European visitors to explore Vietnam's diverse destinations. At the same time, it demonstrates the Vietnamese Government's efforts to attract international visitors and promote the tourism industry, simplifying complicated visa application procedures and related fees, thereby "opening the door" for visitors to explore the unique cultural beauty, majestic natural landscapes and colorful vibrancy of Vietnam's provinces and cities.
During the visa exemption period, the most popular destinations for tourists from these markets include Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi , Phu Quoc Island and Nha Trang. Each location offers unique experiences and different perspectives on Vietnam.

Famous for its golden beaches and the iconic Dragon Bridge, Da Nang is the first gateway for visitors to cultural heritage sites such as the Marble Mountains and the ancient town of Hoi An. Ho Chi Minh City is bustling with modern buildings and famous historical landmarks such as the Cu Chi Tunnels, along with a delicious street food scene.
The capital city of Hanoi attracts visitors with its thousand-year-old Old Quarter, the poetic Hoan Kiem Lake and centuries-old temples. The pearl island of Phu Quoc is an ideal tropical resort paradise with pristine beaches, lush green forests and world-class resorts.
The coastal city of Nha Trang is known for its unique clear blue beaches, vibrant nightlife and exciting water sports such as scuba diving and snorkeling.
“Vietnam’s visa-free policy is a great step forward, making it easier than ever for European tourists to experience the unique blend of culture, nature and hospitality here. This is good news for both tourists and the tourism industry. The increase in searches shows that Vietnam is becoming an ideal destination to meet a variety of travel interests, from cultural exploration to relaxing beach holidays,” said Mr. Vu Ngoc Lam./.
