At the program, the Youth Union of the Lao Dong Newspaper presented a symbolic plaque of 10,000 national flags to 5 District Youth Unions to implement the program "National Flag Road" in 5 localities (each District Youth Union received 2,000 national flags); awarded 20 scholarships from the program "Scholarship to support ethnic minority and poor students" implemented by the Lao Dong Newspaper to students in Binh Chanh district.

The Road and Railway Traffic Police Department and Binh Chanh District Youth Union signed a joint plan to strengthen traffic order and safety in the area in 2023; donated helmets to the local rapid response team.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Tran Minh Tri - Secretary of the Youth Union of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, emphasized that although the 4 grassroots Youth Unions have different professions and expertise, they share the same goal of dedication and volunteering for the community, hoping to contribute a part of their youth to build beloved Ho Chi Minh City.
"With the enthusiasm of youth, we will bring to the locality the "National Flag Road" projects, propaganda sessions on traffic safety; environmental protection, green living; loving meals and many meaningful activities and tasks associated with the green volunteer shirt... to participate in building urban civilization, ensuring aesthetics, recreating green, clean and beautiful spaces for people living in residential areas; taking care of the lives of poor workers, families with preferential policies..." - Mr. Tri said.

Mr. Pham Van Luy, Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Binh Chanh District, highly appreciated the spirit of initiative, volunteerism and creativity of the members and youths in the 4 grassroots Youth Unions. The leaders of Binh Chanh District thanked the "Accompanying suburban friends" program for contributing to influencing the community and people's awareness of environmental protection.
Mr. Luy also shared that he was particularly impressed with the program "The Road of the Fatherland Flag" organized and implemented by the Lao Dong Newspaper.
The organizing committee awarded scholarships to students in difficult circumstances and policy households.
According to Mr. Luy, the construction of "National Flag Roads" on the main roads of the locality, the roads leading through historical and cultural relics not only contribute to educating the people about the tradition of patriotism but more especially create a mark for these works. Currently, in Binh Chanh district, 8/16 communes and towns have built "National Flag Roads" from the number of national flags donated by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper.
Mr. Bui Huu Hong Hai - Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City People - Government - Party Bloc Youth Union said that the program "Accompanying suburban friends" will help union members and youth of 4 grassroots unions share resources with 5 suburban districts, especially supporting children in difficult circumstances to encourage them to have a better life.
"The program also helps to improve security, order, and better compliance with traffic laws, especially among students. Personally, I hope the program will be expanded to other districts in the city to spread to many people and youth in the city," said Mr. Hai.
Dong Tay Barbershop Company organizes free haircuts for students
Mr. Nguyen Van Tron (Tan Kien commune, Binh Chanh district): "The program is very good, helping poor families. My nephew received a scholarship, I will use the money to buy books for him to go to school. I feel very happy, very grateful! I am especially excited that today the "National Flag Road" through Tan Kien commune People's Committee was inaugurated. This road, which was already busy, is now even more spacious".

Within the framework of the program, the grassroots Youth Unions also organized booths to introduce and promote the products, services and brands of the unit.
