According to Mr. Alejandro Osorio, Managing Director of Grab Vietnam, the power of technology helps the company create many new experiences for users, support partners and promote digital transformation through many initiatives.
"Applying technology to support digital transformation for individuals and business units" is the story presented by a representative of Grab Vietnam at the annual High-level Forum on Technology 4.0, with the participation of many leaders of the Party, State and Government, domestic and international experts, on June 14 in Hanoi .
The paper was part of the workshop on "Digital transformation and green transformation of the service industry in the process of industrialization and modernization to 2030, vision 2045", focusing on discussing digital solutions that create breakthroughs and enhance customer experience in the finance, transportation, logistics sectors...
Talking about Grab's innovation journey, Mr. Alejandro Osorio shared: "It is a journey of continuously bringing value to users through new solutions, constantly discovering challenges that the market and users are facing and finding solutions."
The innovation process that this business created started in 2014, with the aim of providing a safe and quality transportation service to users. Grab is one of the pioneers in providing taxi drivers with the opportunity to increase their income with the GrabTaxi service, thanks to which taxi drivers can reach and serve more passengers in a more efficient and flexible way.
During that process, Grab brought many first-time experiences to drivers, such as using smartphones, opening bank accounts..., bringing a breath of fresh air to the transportation industry for the first time.
Over time, Grab continued to develop services with GrabBike, GrabCar, opening up new opportunities to increase income for the traditional driver and motorbike taxi community, along with many other firsts.
Not only helping driver partners improve their income, Grab also supports them in accessing financial services through extensive cooperation with major financial partners, helping partners access loans and legal and safe financial services.
According to Grab's statistics, 24.4% of driver partners operating on this platform are receiving loans from banks, along with more than 5,000 valid insurance packages distributed by the company to driver partners.

With GrabExpress, Grab has a new option for delivery for individuals and online businesses, solving the delivery problem - considered the key to promoting growth for e-commerce in Vietnam. At the same time, driver partners also have additional income thanks to this new service.
Continuing to expand opportunities for new revenue streams for merchant partners, GrabFood and GrabMart services help optimize operational efficiency for driver partners, as they can take advantage of their time to deliver more necessities and food. At the same time, these two services also support digital transformation for small traders, traditional businesses and micro, small and medium enterprises in Vietnam.
"With GrabFood and GrabMart, Grab once again opens a new door for the e-commerce sector. Thanks to that, many F&B businesses during the social distancing period can still operate without losing revenue. Grocery stores, restaurants, and small shops can get on the digital platform faster, with more solutions to boost sales," said the CEO of Grab Vietnam.
Also from the process of implementing GrabMart, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, Grab saw new opportunities in cooperating with farmers and agricultural cooperatives when understanding the challenges in consuming agricultural products. Taking advantage of the power of the ecosystem, Grab quickly connected and brought gardeners and agricultural cooperatives providing fresh agricultural products to GrabMart, while helping consumers access quality agricultural products on the platform.
According to Grab statistics, 146 tons of quality fruits were sold on GrabMart in May 2023. Previously, in 2022, more than 800 agricultural cooperatives were trained and provided with digital knowledge by Grab and its partners.
"What I want to emphasize is innovation. Grab is here with success stories that have come from many experiments and failures to continuously learn and innovate. Our goal is not just to grow the business, but through services, partnerships..., Grab can bring more value to its users and partners."
"We see a lot of potential in the market, and there are many values that Grab's technology platform can bring to partners and users to develop the digital economy," Mr. Alejandro Osorio emphasized.
